I've been drinking cold brew coffee for about 7 years. I've tired pretty much every brewing contraption out there and I can tell you with 100% confidence this system is the best by far. It produces the best flavor, all the caffeine, without the acidic attack on my stomach. Very simple to use.... Filtered water is best but plain old tap water is fine too... I suggest buying your coffee in whole bean form and grinding it just prior to using it for best flavor. I grind mine one the course side... maybe a little more course than what you'd find in the bags of already ground coffee..... this helps reduce sludge / sediment in the jar. The cone shaped screen holds a lot of coffee. I fill mine a little more than 3/4 full to allow expansion of the coffee grounds. I fill the jar about 3/4 full of lukewarm water and slowly drop the coffee filled screen inside.... allowing the coffee grounds to absorb water... If you try to put the filter in too fast, the coffee grounds will float to the top and overflow out the top. Once the filter is fully inside the jar, I fill the jar to the top and twist the lid on. Then I shake it for about 30 seconds to make sure the coffee grounds are fully saturated... you may have to add a little more water at this point.... That's it... I let mine brew for at least 24 hours... and most times I let it go for 2 days... I try to give the whole jug a good shake after about 12 hours to mix things up inside. When it's done brewing, I pull the filter out and let it drain for a minute... I put the cap back on and I put it in the fridge. I really like the lid that comes with this kit. Lic #2 shows the thick silicone rubber gasket that keeps the coffee from dripping or spilling when shaking the jug. The jar has the same look and feel as a Bell Mason jar. The screen / filter mesh feels well put together and the mesh is small enough to keep sediment to a minimum but still allows for water to fully soak into the coffee grounds. This is a solid kit... everything you'll need to make cold brew at home... better taste and much cheaper than you'll find at your local coffee shop. You can play with different coffees to see what flavor you like best. I like a strong flavor so Italian Roast or French Roast is my fav. This system brings out fantastic flavor.
Sent a very used product. I will be returning
I ordered this for a trip in a few weeks. It arrived with a dirty and scratched exterior that didn't look like it could be cleaned to remove the stains. This disappointed me. I have read such good reviews about the quality, but haven't had a chance to test that out. I will be returning this.
This coffee maker is amazing for very small spaces. Easy on and off button, quiet. Perfect for 1 single person. Love the reusable filter! Super easy to clean!
Though we have seen the brand in numerous occasions and know of its quality, this is the first BUNN coffee maker that we own. We have the great large ones at my office and the make great coffee, so I was pleased to have the chance to own one of these. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE FIRST TIME USE INSTRUCTIONS! What I love about it: - VERY easy to use. Its a matter of pouring water in the cold water reservoir and closing, placing the carafe under the spout and closing the lid. - Incredible and efficient hot water system: The coffee maker basically constantly keep the water in the hot water tank at optimal brew temperature range. When the lid is opened for refill there is a gasket which shuts the cold water reservoir allowing you to put as much water as you would like to brew (anywhere from 20oz-50oz - 4-10 cups). As soon as you close the lid the cold water flows down the tank while pushing the hot water into the shower head over the coffee beans. GENIUS! - The carafe has a distinct beak that hangs over the edge of the pouring area, which keeps it completely drip free. Any remaining coffee that would in regular carafe drip on the table, is "magicaly" (gravity) sucked back into the carafe. (also genius) Things that I wish could be better: - There is a whole lot of plastic going on in this brewer. Basically the whole body (aside from a thin metal place on the back side of the carafe area. I know it reflects the price point, however it would be nice to see at least a Stainless Steel option at a bit higher price point. - The body gets a bit hot after a couple of hours. I do not leave it on all day long because it gets too hot after 5-6 hours - This is meant to be kept on all the time, however for those of us who chose to turn on t use it and then off after using it, I wish there was some indicator of when the water in the tank is ready to brew (the instructions state after 15 minutes, but It would be nice to double the use of the thermostat that keeps water from boiling to also indicate when optimal brew temperature has been reached. SUMMARY: we have had this for a week and used every single day in the morning and in the afternoon. We love making coffee in different ways (manual pour over, Italian style, cold brew, and even espresso) but this way is the fastest and requires the least amount of manual intervention. Great tasting coffee and warm for as long as needed. I would recommend this brewer even though I wish it was a bit more heavy duty. If you have any questions about feel free to leave a comment below and I will do my best to help further clarify it. Please let us know if this helps. Cheers, happy brewing.
It came time to replace my old coffee maker. I’m not one who is into all these disposable pods or those fancy coffee drinks, so I wanted a plain old coffee maker. And I wanted one from a brand I could trust. After a bit of searching, I decided on the Braun Pure Flavor 14 Cup Coffee Maker. I received my coffee maker and was anxious to try it. This coffee maker is very easy to operate. You just fill it with water and coffee…turn it on…and select regular…bold…or over ice. Press the button, and the brewing starts. That’s it. Easy. I’m not a big fan on how long it takes for most coffee makers to brew a pot of coffee. Some of them take what seems like hours. But this Braun has a ‘fast’ setting which appealed to me. I brewed a pot using it, and I had 8 cups of coffee waiting for me in around two minutes. I thought that was pretty good. The coffee was good. It had a lot of flavor and was at a good temperature. You can adjust the brew temperature as well, but the default setting was good for me. It made a good cup. The coffee maker has a built in water filter that fits in the water reservoir. The filters are very easy to change. And Braun even includes a permanent gold basket filter. That’s always plus with me especially since there are so many kinds of coffee filters out there. All-in-all, I think this Braun PureFlavor will be a good coffee maker for me. It’s easy to use and it brews a pot of coffee a lot quicker than most. And it doesn’t take up a lot of counter space which is always a plus.
I followed all of the instructions to a tee and nothing. I’ve gone through 3 illy pods, which are not cheap, and still no coffee. I packed it up and sending it back to coffeemakers.us.com. I had to order another Keurig for same day delivery. So annoyed!!
It stopped working on week 6! I do NOT recommend!
I absolutely love my new coffee gator! I had a Keurig but it died (my 4th) and i am tired of replacing it so I decided to try pour over! Boy am I glad I did! Yes, it takes more work than a Keurig but my coffee tastes so much better!! It is so easy to use and clean and I love that the filter is cleanable so better for the environment! Thank you thank you thank you for making my mornings start just a little better!
It seemed like a nice Roaster for the money. But coffee roasting would take 20 minutes at 220c. The temp dial did not heat to indicated temperature.
I finally replaced my old Techni Vorm and I'm glad I did. They have made several improvements. First the arm that sprays the water into the coffee has been redesigned to more evenly distribute the water. Second the plug is now 3 prong. Third, the carafe which looks the same, seems to pour more easily without dripping. The coffee is smooth and not at all bitter. Finally, I love the color.
I bought this coffee roaster when I was first getting started with coffee roasting. I will admit, I only made one roast with this roaster but that is because I could see that I was likely to have a lot of imperfections in my roasts. Instead of a drum roast concept like most coffee roasters use, this one relies on a hot plate and a spinning rod to hopefully flip the beans in an attempt to roast the beans in a balanced way. For myself personally, I wanted to roast in a much more professional way so while I did not purchase a professional roaster, I did end up buying a Behmor Coffee Roaster. The Behmor has proven to be a much better choice though much more expensive too.
I love my coffee maker, however I noticed a hairline scratch or crack on the pot. I don’t have any leaking as yet. If I experience a leak, will the company replace it? I did order an extra pot because I really love my coffee and can’t imagine not having a cup or two even for one day!!! I would recommend buying this maker. I have yet to use the express. Thank you☕️ Terry
The base was cracked right in front of the heating plate when we removed it from the box
I have used a couple of different brands of drippers this one works the best so far. The drainage speed is just perfect for the flavor and the self contained paper filters fit very well.
