  • My friend loves using pour over to make coffee so I thought I'd try it too. I didn't need a large carafe so I got this 4 cup version, which is a good size for 1-3 large cups of coffee. The filter has a really fine filter and fits nicely on top of the carafe. I'm a bit concerned about the glass carafe since the glass seems a bit thin and may break of dropped or knocked on things. Nevertheless it hasn't broken yet. The instructions that came with it is a bit thin. I was able to make pretty good tasting coffee with the method of pre-heating the filter and carafe with hot water, then pouring in the needed amount of hot water over the coffee grounds. The straining seems a bit fast, so I may try using a paper filter to experiment a bit. Cleanup is not difficult but need to wash out the strainer after each use, to remove the soot and any oils that came out of the coffee. The price for the coffee maker is reasonable for the size and quality of the set.

  • The cold brew coffee maker is thick and nice quality materials. The coffee flavor is able to soak through the mesh while leaving limited to no coffee grinds. The capacity of the container is high. Only issue I’ve experienced is the handle no matter where you start screwing it on the top ends on a corner and it’s almost impossible to fit your whole hand behind the handle so I have to pour it into another container. Minor inconvenience to me, but it might be a dealbreaker to others.

  • Fits nicely in the fridge. The narrow design is an efficient use of space storage-wise. However, I wouldn’t steep the coffee in this container. I don’t think all the grounds would be able to get fully saturated with the way the filter is oriented. I put 100g of coarse ground coffee in a growler with 1500mL of water - mixed it & and let it sit for 24 hrs. Then, I poured it all through the filter into the container and was able to easily dispose of the grounds. The filter was pretty full w/ 100g of coffee. Next time I’d do less water for a stronger brew.

Good. Looks good and easy to use.

The grinder is extremely loud, does not hold enough beans for a full 12-cup carafe (120 gms based on 8-10 gms for a 5 oz cup) and has to be cleaned every time you make a pot of coffee (see photo). The filter is also difficult to clean. The glass carafe is as thin as a Christmas tree ornament. You can't see the clock unless you are about a foot away (there is no backlight). I suspect most people will just give up and use the K-cup feature.

I have owned 4 Breville coffee makers. I keep one in my Vegas vacation home, one in my company office and one at my home. I also purchased one as a Christmas present two years ago for my son and his wife. This Breville is rock solid, never a single problem in 5 years in any of them. It is the coffee maker anyone will love. It is a bit pricey compared to others but it simply works great. Keep it clean and it should last for years. It also can be purchased in 110 or 220 volt. I use 220 in my office overseas.

RECOMMENDATION: Big Thumbs up – you actually get more out of each coffee pod with this new coffee maker THE GOOD: 1. Keurig replaced the water boiler in older units with a new heat-on-demand system that only heats water as it is brewing the coffee. This solves one of the biggest problems with the old units – they had to keep water hot all the time so they bled heat/energy and thus were expensive to operate. That completely goes away with this new design. 2. There is a new injector system that punctures the top of the pod and injects the hot water into the coffee grounds in the pod. The number of injectors increases from 1 to 5. The net effect is that the water is better distributed throughout the grounds and thus you get more coffee out of each pod. The coffee that I brew through this new unit using the 8oz and ‘Strong’ setting (see below) is the same strength as what I used to get on my older units on the 6oz setting. 3. The water reservoir can be positioned to the side or rear of the unit, which is good for fitting into narrower spaces. 4. There is a ‘Strong’ setting what slows down the brewing process to get more flavor out of the pods. I love this as it gets more coffee out of each pod. 5. There is also an ‘iced’ setting for making iced coffee by actually brewing over ice, but have not tested that setting. THE BAD: 1. The first couple seconds when the brewing starts, the coffee stream coming out of the maker is mostly just regular water and not coffee yet. That is because it takes the heat-on-demand system a few seconds to get hot enough to start actually start brewing coffee. That means that you can’t yank the coffee cup out from the unit after the first half of the brew cycle to get just the strongest coffee and thus the Keurig equivalent of an expresso.

  • I really liked this machine and it wsd very easy to use. It has a good pull for a beginner espresso. I liked the functionality of the machine but the mill frothing was the only downside. I found myself pressing the froth button several times to get an 8 Oz latte. It had a great mill capacity that you can store in the fridge and the portafilter is easy to use.

  • We have only had this brewer less than two years. We only use it on weekends and holidays. This morning, after brewing a cup and sitting down to enjoy it, I heard a popping sound. When I went in to see what it was the coffee pot was on fire. Thankfully we were still home, and we had not done a brew and go type thing or the damage would have been significantly worse.

  • So cute but disappointed. A piece of the coffee pot handle came broken. The handle isn’t sturdy and can snap off at any second end, and break the glass. I also looked at the reviews after (because it’s a Christmas present from my mom) and many people were having issues, and says it lasts for 3 to 5 months…

  • The color was pretty. First one was broken so I did get a free replacement. I cleaned it several times but the coffee never tasted good and it wasn’t hot, just warm. I would not recommend this coffee maker

Here's the thing. I love manual brew. There are SO many options out there for brewing with a kettle and delicious, fresh coffee. Tons of pour overs, tons of immersion brewers, and tons more percolators... But this little guy... he's a lot of fun. Hario recently came out with a product to challenge the Clever Dripper's long-lasting immersion/pour reign, but this thing will always be king. 20g of coffee, 200g of 198ºF water, and a 3 minutes to brew a fantastic, easy cup of coffee in the morning. I would highly recommend this brewer!

I just switched to French press coffee and I am very impressed with this. Follow the directions. No grounds in my coffee which is great.

At exactly 14 months the machine completely stopped working. One morning I turned the machine on and the start button was flashing. The next day the machine would not turn on. Their warranty only covers 12months. When I reached out to Delongi they would not repair or replace the unit. There customers service is awful. A close to 200$ coffee maker should last more than a year and two months. Do not recommend
