Ordered for my mom, she needed one to replace her last Mr Coffee that quit after 5+ years. The price on this model was lowest we found for a 12 cup programmable Mr Coffee brand. It arrived at scheduled time. She was worried that it came only in the Mr coffee box, but it was well packed with molded styrofoam to protect everything. Unpacked, set the clock, ran 2 cycles of water thru and then on to a perfect cup. The delay brew cycle worked fine for waking up to it already made. It is a little noisier than the last Mr Coffee and seemed the have a higher temperature on the warming plate. Still can't beat $20.00. We will update in a few months time to review continued performance.
Me encantó, muy bueno la verdad me encanta
Update 2023-09-03 I've noticed that the auto-close feature, known as Auto-iQ, tends to shut the basket prematurely, which leads to retained water not properly dripping out. After a brewing cycle, there's still some water left standing in the basket. This excess water can cause an overflow, enabling coffee grounds to find their way into the space between the filter, and ultimately, they end up in the carafe. My brewing approach involves using five scoops of medium-fine ground coffee and cycling through three separate modes—cold brew, specialty, and cold brew again—to fill the carafe. However, this process results in about a quarter to half a teaspoon of coffee grounds ending up in the carafe. Conversely, when I utilize the classic or rich modes (a single mode) with a higher water temperature, the coffee grounds froth within the basket and filter, as expected. Unfortunately, the auto-close Auto-iQ basket exacerbates issues with retained water and leads to leakage of around a tablespoon or more of coffee grounds into the carafe. A viable solution to address this predicament would be the incorporation of a programmable timer for the Auto-iQ auto-close feature. Update 2023-03-25 For the intrepid coffee enthusiasts daring to exceed four scoops, beware! The rebellious grounds may revolt against the filter, spilling into the carafe – a situation most distressing. Behold, the craft of Brewing Cold Brew WITHOUT ICE, infused with a touch of humor: 1. Deposit 4-5 scoops of coffee into the eager filter. 2. Satisfy the reservoir’s unquenchable thirst with water. 3. Engage the 1x Specialty Brew ceremony. 4. Restore the reservoir’s life-sustaining water supply. 5. Invoke the almighty Cold Brew. 6. Quench the reservoir’s persistent thirst yet again. 7. Call forth the Cold Brew once more. 8. Entrust the brew to the chilling confines of the refrigerator. This ingenious method not only fills the carafe but extracts the essence of the valiant grounds. Update 2023-02-02 While initial impressions of the Ninja Hot and Cold Brewed System were accurate, the contraption suffers from several design missteps: 1. Brewing hot/cold coffee may result in an unruly ground uprising, overwhelming the filter and infiltrating the carafe – even when employing #4 paper filters as backup. 2. The dream of compatibility with classic carafes, such as the Bunn decanter, remains elusive. 3. The apparatus displays a voracious appetite for coffee grounds, especially when juxtaposed with its espresso counterpart. 4. A veritable ocean of plastic permeates the construction. 5. The measuring spoon longs for relocation to a more advantageous position atop the device. 6. The filter basket and extractor aspire to grander dimensions – increased width and height. 7. The machine yearns for half-inch standoffs, offering respite for its heating plate. 8. The carafe, too, is ensnared in the plastic quagmire. 9. The carafe’s glass composition would benefit from a heartier thickness. 10. Streamlining dial indicators and buttons on one side would gracefully minimize the device’s footprint. Initial 2023-01-07 In the spirit of nature’s ever-evolving tapestry, this review will adapt as I become more acquainted with the CP301 machine. Concealed within a modest brown shipping box, the product arrived – its true identity betrayed only by the markings of Ninja CP301. A subtler font would be ideal. Following the ritualistic flush, my first encounter with the machine was encouraging. The CP301 emerged as a panacea for my fatigue of using an expensive, limited specialty espresso brewing system. A comprehensive apparatus capable of brewing both tea and cold over ice seemed a dream come true. In days past, I would indulge in Starbucks Frappuccino Mochas, a mere 12 ounces at a staggering $5. I challenged the CP301 with a concoction of six heaping scoops of Starbucks mocha blend and a carafe half-filled with ice. In a swift 13 minutes, the machine prevailed. I blended two generous scoops of Stephen’s specialty milk chocolate powder and frothed the mixture into a divine potion. Behold! A brew that outshines the 12-ounce Starbucks offering in taste and value. Once I have crafted 45 such 12-ounce Frappuccinos, the machine will have justified its place in my home.
Received w/ slight damage to the handle on the carafe. No other damage noticed.
We got one in our office and it's a total nightmare. It's not difficult to use, but it's not very intuitive either. Every other day I have to explain how to use it, usually to someone who lifted the hopper and accidentally dumped beans into the unit (which I have to fish out, and so will you). Sometimes it makes coffee-tinted water (see pic). For a fully automatic device it requires a tremendous amount of fidgeting. At home I use a scale and a Wilfa to create pour-overs into a Chemex, but I understand that office coffee is a different kind of thing. I have no idea who bought this for us, but I hope they're not offended when I kick it down the stairs. I come here to coffeemakers.us.com and am shocked to learn this hateful device is $160?!!?!! If that's your budget, just click on past this guy. The SCAA (coffee certification fancy people) has a dozen or so approved coffee makers, several of which are in this price range. Do yourself a favor and get one of those. They're certified because they make better coffee, period. If you like your brew enough to be considering things like the type of grind, do it right and skip this overpriced time waster. SCAA list: http://www.scaa.org/?page=cert2
I love the deep taste of coffee from this Machine. It is very easy to make, and so easy to clean, I especially like the streamer nozzle it provides. You can cook milk into bubble foaming drinks. Truly amazing.
I actually really like the way this coffee pot looks; it’s cute and came with a really nice, insulated stainless steel mug with a leakproof lid that’s easy to use. The unit is well built and pretty light when empty, making it great for its purpose as a travel coffee pot. The cord is long enough for flexible placement options, wether in a truck, RV or connecting it to a power generator and it’s just as well built as a standard coffee pot you’d find in a store. Brewing was reasonably fast, with nothing leaking and it’s quite easy to use with only an On and Off button and it made a pretty decent cup of coffee. I really like the travel mug it came with, which feels great along with keeping my coffee warm and could easily be sold separately for $15-$20 like other stainless travel mugs. Overall I’m very happy with the unit and it’ll work out well for my car camping trips.
I’ve had this coffee maker for almost 4 years. I’ve loved it, but the LEDs that tell you which mode it’s in; how it’s programmed; and what time it’s programmed to brew; (all of which are essential, in my case), burn out after 2-3 years. The attached photo was taken when the clock should be reading “8:28” and both the power button and delay brew button should be illuminated, but they’re burned out. Ninja cut corners on their LEDs evidently.
Received this on Monday I think, and it started off leaking everywhere. Also weird function, the Grind button automatically turns on, you have to select Brew, turn brew off, THEN select Grind Off and then Brew again. By day 5 the leaking stopped but now it won’t turn on at all. Tried multiple outlets that my toaster and instapot all work in, and this won’t turn on again. I spent a lot of money on this and I’m very disappointed I’m without a coffee pot now. I did email customer service early this morning and haven’t heard back yet. Hopefully they’ll have an answer.
I used this coffee maker about 5 days a week, a total of 10 to 15 cups of coffee per week. After 4 months of use it seized up and will not even turn on. I like the product. I am very disappointed that this issue happened. I did not anticipate this issue so soon or maybe at all. I will give it another try and will purchase another but this time with a 3-year warranty. I will rate that product if anything negative happens again. For the product use I will give it a five star, but the burnout issue, I will give it a one star.
I recently retired & started making coffee at home. That's when I realized I hate my own coffee....until I purchased my Keurig! It's very easy to use & I get a perfect cup of coffee every day!
This whole machine was cracked down the middle and across. Added water to it and it literally poured out so fast that it ended up ruining the fresh seal on my new counter top and it shorted out the power strip it was plugged I to and shorted out my refrigerator due to how quickly the water came pouring out. So several issues are now going to be a bigger problem due the amount of water that came out and I had no time to catch it. I now cannot even get my refrigerator to turn back on because of water ruining the power strip it was on even when I use another outlet
I have been using this everyday since it arrived and it works great! Yes the glass is a bit thin but just be careful and it will be fine. On my 4th day using it I was washing the filter and I noticed that the filter screen was starting to lift (see photo). The same day I received a email from this company asking how everything was going and if I needed any advice, I wrote them back and explained what had happened. They replied back and said that at the moment they had no filters in stock but If I could wait they would send one as soon as they were available so I said sure no problem send it when you have it. They were in constant contact until the filter shipped, they were kind, professional and truly nice in their correspondence. Bottom line this is coffee maker with no moving parts its not expensive, I would have been ok using the filter as is but what I believe is really great about this company is that they take customer satisfaction seriously and they are really cool people. Thanks guys!
Cracked in my fridge after less than a month. Don’t waste your money on this shoddy equipment
