Sharp-looking coffee pot. Brews a very good cup of coffee! I’ve only used it a couple of days now, but, so far, am pleased!

I didn’t know I ordered a used product at a new price, not only is it used, it wasn’t even cleaned after use. (See enclosed picture, carafe dirty as well.). Just opened it tonight. I will never buy again!

  • I do not like the fact that I paid for new and got a used return! The picture shows the coffee beans that came out of the machine.

I had a K-Compact for about 3 years before it very suddenly stopped working. I had no complaints during that time. You did *occasionally* have coffee grounds leakage if your needle got clogged but it was otherwise pretty flawless. From day one brew one, this machine has spilled grounds into every drink. To be more specific, the initial coffee is generally fine, but grounds get all over the 4 silver metal puncturing structures and subsequently into any drink you brew for the next 2-3 brew cycles. You must brew 2-3 cycles of plain water after every coffee pod you use to clean it. You may still have a few rogue grounds that get into subsequent drinks. I use this for tea a lot so this is a significant problem beyond not wanting grounds in my actual coffees. I would recommend sticking with the original simpler single stream machines. The problematic metal puncturing structures relate to the multi-stream brewing process this machine boasts. Keep it simple.

I received this coffee maker as an early Christmas gift, last year, so it is only a little over a year old. Up until today, it had been working flawlessly, and making truly excellent coffee. However, this morning, I went to make my morning mug, filled the reservoir, put the filter and grounds in the basket, and pressed start. The trouble is, nothing happened. Normally, the brewing starts withing a couple of seconds of pressing the 'Start' button, but this time, absolutely nothing happened. I unplugged it, removed the filter basket and coffee, and dumped out the water, then began again. Refilled the reservoir, replaced the basket and coffee, plugged it back in and pressed 'Start' but once again, it sat there silently refusing to make any coffee. I have owned Cuisinart coffee makers for a good forty years, and can honestly say that until today, I have never had any problem with them. As this one was a gift, and is out of warranty, I am stuck. I owned a Cuisinart DCC-3200 P1 for 14 years prior to being given this one, and to this day it is still the best coffee maker I have ever owned. The DCC-3200 P1 was always reliable, durable, and it made excellent coffee; plus, it sells for just $69.99. The next time my brother visits, I'll have to explain why his gift is not sitting on the counter..

So the overall concept of this gadget is pretty cool, it essentially uses vacuum seal technology (in an expresso machine / French press concept) to brew you either a normal cup of coffee or a cold brew cup. Essentially you'll need to charge the top part in order to get this machine functioning how it should. The concept is cool and all, but until you get the hang of this machine you coffee will honestly taste different every time (even with the same measurements). You gotta remember to mix the grinds well before you let it sit in the filter are and before you're about to press the button to get the best taste. Pros - Nice technology - Time efficient and fast - Aesthetically pleasing to keep on display - Tutorial videos included from Company Cons - inconsistent taste sometimes - Take a bit of time to get use to it

  • Works better than expected. A little adjustment in the float and it fills fine. I also installed a shut-off just in case.

I purchased the coffee maker in April but didn’t use the coffee maker until July. After washing the cup from making a coffee the handle broke off.

  • The most striking thing about this press is that it weighs next to nothing. I was surprised by the box and just how light it was when I got it. The construction of the whole press is is plastic with exception of a few metal parts such as the fasteners, the plunger, and the filter material. This makes it a great option for travel and camping as its light weight and durable construction make it easy to pack. Yet there is no sacrifice in daily use; the press produces fantastic coffee, the filter works great, and there is no plastic taste imparted to your brew. However, this press definitely has a flaw and it's with the plunger. A normal press would have the metal filter press up directly against the glass. Such a design would scratch the surface of this press so Bodum have designed it with a silicone edge around the plunger which is likely to be the first part that will need to be replaced. Secondly, instead of using a metal frame for the plunger, Bodum have opted to use a plastic frame. The result is that the metal filter does not quite sit flat and this tends to trap grinds requiring a bit more effort to clean up and leaving more grinds in your sink. If you don't have a need for the more durable construction and the light weight, I'd recommend the classic Bodum press. But for travel, camping, and durability, this is a great option.

This is the best way to enjoy coffee. I really enjoy the stainless steel filter as it provides a great balance between having a French press and pour over with a paper filter. The nice thing about the stainless steel filter is that it allows the oils to pass through to the cup which can account for more flavor / tasting notes that may be missing with a paper filter. It is also extremely easy for cleanup. Basically when you are done, just dump the grounds and rinse the filter and carafe. Bean Envy also provides a lifetime warranty, so if yours breaks, no problem, contact support and they will send you a new one. I broke mine on a camping trip during transport and they sent me a replacement which has a new design. The new carafe is thicker and seems to be more robust than the old. It is also about 50 grams heavier. The silicone bottom is also great as the carafe will hold up if bumped on the bottom or sat down too hard.

  • I bought this coffee maker to replace an old black and decker coffee maker that broke. I love this new one better; it’s easier to use, it has a built in filter so you don’t need to use paper filters. It brews one large cup of coffee, which is all I need in the morning

This is a GREAT COFFEEMAKER! I got it because when we have company and need a bunch of cups of coffee at once, an expresso machine is not enough! This coffee tastes delicious to me for a coffee machine coffee. My husband did most of the talking on the video. In the video, he explains and performs the steps of making coffee. It is very easy. The adjustment of strength we put at a 3 in the video. However, after tasting it - and you can see the color of the coffee in the 4th photo, I turned it to #2 to make the coffee a bit stronger. The first photo shows it during the 5 minutes it went from start to finish. AMAZING how fast this coffeemaker makes coffee! However, I must say that even though I put in 8 cups of water, I did not get 8 cups of coffee. You lose some of the water through it’s saturating the coffee, coffee strainer, and steam. So, you can see that there is less than 8 cups in the 3rd photo. They give you a few paper filters. We chose to use a paper filter (last photo) instead of the metal filter (5th photo) since we were making 8 cups of coffee. We saw that the paper strainer reaches over the top of the plastic holder while the metal filter does not reach the top. That said, the coffee brewed so quickly and so well that I’m not sure that mattered (using the metal as co pared to the paper filter). The size is about what you would expect for making up to 8 cups of coffee.I feel that the cost here is reasonable for a machine that is quite well built, and works so well!

  • There's some serious photoshopping done in that picture with the coffee mug, because I had to remove everything to get my coffee cup in under. Then there was the whole no reservoir deal I didn't pay attention to. You put in the amount of water per cup you want to brew. It's only me and that is unacceptably inconvenient! So the actual brewing process... the bold brew button works! That's the only positive. It's not even a pretty red. But, moving on, put the coffee pod in and the lid tries to pop up halfway thru - had to hold it down till brewing finished, only to find grounds from the k-cup were literally everywhere throughout the appliance as well as in my coffee! Second cup I used a Green Mountain pod - the lid stayed down this time, which was surprising considering the pod got crushed! I'm not even waiting to get my refund for this to order a different coffee maker! Extremely disappointed! :(

having seen the reviews i had really high hopes for this coffee maker. though it falls short in many fronts. first if you are expecting a high end nicely built coffee maker ... well it is not ... it is a cheap mass manufactured type with key issues as follows: 1. Temperature control: This makes the biggest difference in coffee taste, the first images shows the temperature half way through the brewing cycle.. it consistently stays around 170 f - 175 f which is much lower than advertised. I even warmed up the pot by rinsing it with 200 f water prior to brewing. I got around that by using hot tap water ( @ 140 f ) which ended up giving me a consistent 200 f pour. 2. Taste - fairly disappointed here, at best ( using pre heated water described above to get the right temp) it tastes like my cheap drip coffee maker. In description it says that this comes with "Optional pre-infusion mode " ... ummm no! it just starts and goes as a normal cheap coffee maker. maybe the high-end models have that option though not this one! 3.a. Flask design (second and third picture) : You would expect the flask to be a high quality built which holds temperature for at least a couple of hours. NOPE! you would be wrong, the flask has a large lid which has zero insulation with a thin layer of plastic on it. Much of the head is lost from here as heat rises up... so after 1 hour the temperature drops to about 160 f from 200 f ... so do not expect the coffee to remain hot if you are not drinking it right away. 3. b. Second issue with flask design is that it has a lip on the inside so you will always have a good amount of water or coffee stuck in there even if you turn it upside down with lid removed! not a big deal with this makes cleaning the pot a bit of a challenge. 3.c. the list is very cheap and flimsy ... it is hard to put it on ( doesn't fall in threads easily ) and I fully expect it to break within the next 1-2 years as the two pieces of it move apart as i'm tightening the lid. 3.d. because of the awkward design of the pour spout on the flask without the lid you can not pour coffee without spilling it ... even with the led on you have to hold a specific angle to avoid spilling coffee all over the place.
