I purchased this for traveling. My husband is fine with his regular coffee from the hotel coffee maker but I like espresso. I have an espresso machine at home and was excited to find something portable to make espresso when away without having to buy $7 lattes from the hotel lounge. It arrived very protected. However, the instructions were written in such tiny print that even my teenager with 20/20 vision could not read them. It was not intuitive to me how to make a cup of espresso using my Nespresso pod because there are several "adapters" and I wasn't sure which one to use or how to fit them together. So I plugged it in to charge overnight and decided it was a "tomorrow problem." Fast forward, I watched the video on the product description and was able to figure out which pieces screwed together to brew a Nespresso ORIGINAL capsule. Two quick presses and it heated the water. Then it beeped. Then I pressed it once to actually brew. Out came delicious espresso that tasted just like my OG machine's espresso. It had nice crema on top. While not scalding hot, the espresso was still hot. Using this portable brewer to heat AND brew used up half of its battery power according to the lights on the front that blink when I plugged it back in. So heating the water takes a good bit of power. Note: Supposedly you can use coffee grounds using another configuration of pieces. I did not try that as I am a pod drinker. Also, I cannot comment if this works on Kcups because I do not own any and couldn't try that. Tip: You DO have to screw TIGHTLY to pierce the foil of a Nespresso capsule when you go to brew it. In summary, this is great to make espresso when on vacation but you will need to recharge it frequently. Therefore, it may not last long if you're intending to use this when camping without electricity. I wish the directions were easier to read or there were clear labels on the parts to screw together for which type of pod you were using. However, once I figured it out, I could truly appreciate the fact that I can make my espresso anywhere I go now. That is certainly worth 5 stars!
This coffee maker is perfect. I had to put away my Keurig because buying pods is more expensive than buying coffee grounds. Plus making 2-3 cups at one time saves time and money than using 2-3pods and have to wait back to back.
The item came exactly in a package I shared. We bought it as a gift, and I do not know how we can give it now. I opened the box to see if the item was used. It looks never used, but I am still suspicious. It is an expensive machine; it should have been in better condition.
Good quality and build, clean tasting coffee, but two points I have to mention. First, wish there was a power auto off after the brew is complete and also the water arm that swings over the basket tends to catch the paper filters and fold them over so the water doesn't flow properly so I advise moving the arm over yourself and then closing lid. Overall good product
I got rid of my clunky cup brewer and got this. It is good quality and it’s really pretty. I like to pretend I’m pouring the Queen’s tea out of it…not really, but it DOES look fancy! Oh, and the most important part…the coffee tastes good!
Buena calidad del equipo, demora menos de un minuto para colar el café, queda muy buen sabor, no importa el café q uses
What can I say, this is a coffee pot and then some, manufactured by none other than Braun! A very reputable company that has been around for decades I believe. Usually can't go wrong with their products. With this product you can do the following *Brew coffee 10 cup , 7 brew sizes *Pod free drip *Hot/cold brew *Hot water for Tea In the photos I have pictured a just brewed tea with the hot water from this machine, there are recommendations for different types of tea this one was recommended for 100° to 212° and this hot water was delivered into my glass cup at 203°. I placed the empty cup inside the machine where the carafe would sit and I placed a tea bag inside of the cup then I pushed the water button and it began to heat the water and ultimately let it into my cup. It was the perfect cup of tea. I tend to drink coffee in the morning and tea when I'm going to bed so I should get very good use out of this machine for quite some time. You can Brew coffee in bold, gold, over ice, cold brew, hot water is dispensed independently and does not come in contact with coffee. It comes with a nice coffee scooper, a large bowl and a smaller bowl. It comes with a metal type filter mesh and a few paper filters, you do not use them both at the same time though only one or the other and if you buy filters for this you need to have a specific size I believe it's #4 and it has to be cone shaped. They're also is a charcoal filter that you need to soak for 15 minutes in water before placing it into the water reservoir area it , has a special holder for it and easy to work with. You can program the time, and prepare it for in the morning to automatically Brew the coffee with the automatic Brew time. Another nice factor with this is - that you can pull a little shelf down that is inside, pictured to the right of my cup while sitting inside the machine it folds down and you can sit a cup on top of that so its closer to the dispensing hole. The dial at the top has the different amounts and type of container that you want to use, like whole carafe, half a carafe, a Tumbler to cups which the ounces are labeled 5, 12, 16, 20. The glass tumbler I used is 16 oz and it filled it right up to the brim. In the summertime you'd be hard pressed not to see me walking around with some sort of cool drink especially coffee in my hand, this will definitely make my frappuccinos or just cold brewed way easier than what I have had to do before. I like it, it's giftable and it does a lot
I already have one minipresso, and I found the nanopresso is easier to use and clean than minipresso, really amazing upgrade.
MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN I TRY TO USE THE K CUP UNIT IT EXPLODES AND COFFEE GOES EVERYWHERE
Returned - arrived with metal filter in bottom of carafe, will not stay in place. Arrived promptly and is made of decent quality materials so will reorder and give them another try. I will update when I get the next one. ** Update: new Coffee Maker works as directed :) I like it. I used my coffee grinder to grind beans as coarse as it would go and used a measuring cup for 1/2 cup and left it in the fridge door for 24 hours. Coffee is a little less strong than I would like, but I will try more grounds next time. I would say overall if your filter stays in place, this is an excellent product.
Although the coffeemaker was reasonably priced and works fine, shortly after buying the black coating on the burner started peeling and has become quite unsightly. The black flakes stick to the pot. Never had this with any other coffeemakers.
We love the smaller size! Our old Keurig coffee was huge! It took up so much space on our little counter top. It maybe smaller but the coffee tastes just as good! Loving the red also.
I ordered one and it came with a cracked and broken water tank. It was replaced, and I just received the replacement and this water tank is cracked too!
ummmm.... amazing!!!!! it makes my burning hot coffee from my keriug immediately cold. i am obsessed.
