I’ll start by saying that I bought a used model, totaling expecting an item had been used. I saw the the condition described was “very good” and the box was damaged. I received the box and noticed that it appeared to have been previously opened and was taped shut. I open the box and noticed that the machine still had what appeared to be the factory wrap on it still. There were no cosmetic issues with it. I filled the reservoir with water and ran an initial startup cycle. I brewed one of the sample packs of double espresso, which tasted great and was plenty strong. I then unboxed the included milk frother and noticed it was missing the lid. I contacted coffeemakers.us.com and they provided assistance reaching out to Nespresso in order to get a replacement lid. I will find out soon how that works out. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and am excited about brewing some coffee and espresso.
Smelled like coffee and came with paint damage all over.
Yes I bought this Iced tea maker “used” and “in good condition”. I cleaned it up to use it and it turns out the pitcher had a crack in the bottom!
A wonderful device!! I love this thing and it looks terrific too! Very easy to use, filter is fine enough to use normal store bought ground coffee with no grains coming through. I can make it on the weekend and have coffee concentrate for throughout the week. Cold brew coffee has so much less acid than normal coffee, it kick-starts your brain without that nasty/angry mood swing I get with regular brewed coffee (my husband is grateful LOL!). This company is terrific to deal with too! There was an issue with the filter and they are sending a replacement. I told everyone at work about this, and will be buying these for gifts this year for sure! I cant recommend this highly enough!!
This product looks better than it performed. The coffee tasted great but getting a cup and a second cup was a chore. The coffee was splashed on the unit, on the countertop and was not as hot as other coffee makers. The drip guard on the bottom looks terrible with coffee drips but this is a preferencec between white or color units. There is a "warning" in the instructions to unplug when not in use and there is a built in setting that will not allow a brew for 2 minutes after the last. This is in order for the unit to cool down. My pictures show a splash pattern. The splash on the paper was plain water. I wasn't going to waste anymore coffee to make my point!
I own 2 Shardor coffee grinders and they are both excellent. This K-cup coffeemaker is also excellent. I already have a single cup coffee maker that was given to me as a gift. I like it but the coffee pods it uses are very expensive. This Shardor coffee maker will cut the cost to less than half for the coffee pods. And it's even less cost if I use the K-cup coffee ground pods that allow me to just use ground coffee to make single cups. There are 4 of these ground-coffee pods included with the unit and they can also be used for tea. Plus this gives me the ability to make single cups with freshly ground beans in about 3 minutes. I like that it is very space saving - fits in a very narrow space between my coffee grinder and the booze. The K-cups load from the top and the top swings up to open completely under a standard height cabinet. They thought of everything. I very much like that I can control the amount of coffee that is dispensed. It is easy to set and clearly indicated. With my other single cup maker, it's a mystery how much coffee is dispensed, it's not so easy to control and also there is no indication of the amount being dispensed. So, no more risk of over-filling a cup and I can make the coffee strength to my taste! So, takes up less space, makes great coffee and saves me a lot of money. I very much recommend it.
Its all you need, simple on/off switch, no timer but brews quickly. After having all kinds of coffee makers for 50 years, these are hard to beat.
I don't usually write reviews, but in this case I was sadly unhappy with the quality of the product I received. The whole coffee maker was wet when I took it out of the package and it has resulted in rust stains.
March 2025 - we noticed some water near the base of the coffee maker but no one had spilled anything near the machine. We lifted up the coffee maker and found a small puddle of water beneath the unit and a large rusty stain on the counter. When I turned over the machine I saw that there is a metal plate underneath that had completely rusted. I think water was somehow leaking out of the bottom of the machine and sitting under where the pot sits. Since we weren't aware of the leak, it eventually rusted out the metal plate. What a mess!!! And now we will somehow have to remove that rust stain on our counter!!! We bought this in May of 2023 and use it almost daily. Just a couple of smaller things that aren't ideal. 1. The coffee doesn't stay super hot through the couple of hours we are drinking it. There isn't a full seal on the pot because the top where the coffee drips through seems to allow the coffee to cool down. 2. In order to pour the last couple of cups from the pot you practically have to turn it upside down which makes pouring it messy since you can't quite see the cup in reference to the spout. 3. Lots of steam comes out the back of the machine so we moved it from under the kitchen cabinets to it's own shelf. I was worried over time that the steam could impact the cabinet finish.
I’ll start with the good. Love the brew options and nice screen and controls. Very easy to set up for auto brew. All the reviews about the hot plate looking horrible even after careful use to avoid unnecessary contact with the carafe are true. It took about 6 mos to a year to become significant and about 18 mos later the hot plate looks like the surface of a rusty, pitted ship anchor. Contacted Breville CS, and it’s been crickets. I would not buy another Breville product, especially since they are not cheap to begin with.
This coffee maker is easy to use. It brews nice hot coffee with a good flavor. But there's a couple things I don't like- the 'on' switch is too easy to push accidentally if you bump into it and if you do accidentally push the button you have to unplug it, you can't just simply turn it off! & I think that is a safety hazard! and my second issue is that a regular, general average size coffee cup does Not sit flat in the maker while the coffee is brewing! that little drip tray area is very uneven and does not hold several size coffee cups - the only coffee cup that actually sits evenly flat is the travel mug that it came with and I don't like that one because the lid doesn't stay on.. so I have to adjust and actually prop up my coffee cups while they're Brewing just so they can sit in there evenly. Kind of hard to see in the picture but that coffee cup does not sit evenly in there and that is a very basic average everyday coffee cup size.. it's good coffee maker but some issues need to be fixed before I'd recommend this product.
If you’re thinking that you might not use this coffee maker a lot because you get coffee from a café or use instant coffee, I’d say it’s still worth it to buy this! As a coffee-loving college student who loves to order coffee, I didn’t know how useful or convenient it would be. But sometimes you want or need coffee at home and this machine has served its purpose well. It tastes a lot better than instant coffee and has given me no problems whatsoever. My biggest tip is to remove the coffee filter with the used coffee at least within a day after brewing to prevent mold from accumulating on the old filter—seems like common sense but sometimes things would get so busy that I would forget. Also to prevent coffee ground buildup I clean the filter basket after every use. All in all this is a perfectly functional coffee maker and hasn’t let me down in the 6 months I’ve had it. If you’re on the fence about this one just get it!
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife. Had an old generation one Keurig that was still working great, but my wife wanted some way to froth milk. This does a great job as you can see in the photo. I honestly use the frother more than she does. I like the additional size, 12 oz. , and the Strong option. I've been drinking the same coffee for 3 years, but these two options make it taste even better. It's a little bigger footprint than the old Keurig, but works great and have no issues in over a month
It percolates and makes coffee. The rest is up to you. I use freshly ground beans . I've timed how long it takes experimented with the amount of coffee I like for the cup of coffee I enjoy. One big tip I can share with anyone who doesn't have experience with this kind of coffee maker. You need to season it kind of like a cast iron skillet. Fill The basket and percolate it for a good hour. Let it sit all night with that strong coffee in there and from here on out just rinse it no need to scrub with soap and water. I do run a small brush threw the stem about once a week to ensure it doesn't get clogged up over time with buildup. With a little care this will be the last time you'll ever buy a coffee maker. I am the only coffee drinker in my house so I generally only make four cups but I can make 8 cups when I have company that may enjoy coffee. Keep in mind this is referring to 8 oz cups Most people drink almost if not double that amount in their morning coffee mug. That's something you should consider and buy the right size coffee pot for your household needs. It's not as convenient or time efficient as a drip coffee pot. But in my opinion and taste and those are very subjective to each person with that in mind , this makes a much better cup of coffee and worth the extra effort to me. From the time I start till I'm pouring my coffee in the cup including grinding the beans is about 20 min. I set a timer and its ready when I go out the for work. Also you should let it sit a few minutes before pouring so any grounds that sneak through the basket settle to the bottom and will not end up in your cup unless you pour the last little bit in it, If you use a coarse ground coffee you don't need a filter so in my opinion this gives you a much better cup of coffee because the filter takes away some of the oils that add flavor to your coffee. But if you're happy with store-bought already ground coffee, get the filters that they sell for these and it works just fine. After reading through some of the negative reviews ones that says this makes a horrible cup of coffee that is 100% user error. I did see reports of the electric one leaking keep in mind I am reviewing the stove top version One lady said the glass on top broke there any number of reasons for this but I have not had any issues with mine possibly she got a cracked one? A few people stated that the handle caught on fire or melted I think this would really be subject to the size of your burner or possibly an electric burner If you had a larger diameter circle of fire or heat than the outside diameter of your actual coffee pot this could very easily be an issue. So use a little caution and place your coffee pot so the handle isn't directly over flames reaching around the pot or heat traveling straight up from an electric burner to the handle. With a gas stove this could be circumvented with placement as well as not turning the heat up so high that the circle of fire is bigger than the coffee pot. Someone said the experienced wobble as if the metal was probably too thin and it didn't work right for them I'm guessing they had it on a electric burner? I have not experienced this on my gas burner. People also mention the metallic taste one person even said hopefully after a few uses and washings that will go away that will not go away if you do not season your coffee maker. From what I saw The majority of bad reviews for this coffee maker come from user error on the opinion based on lack of experience with this type of coffee maker. I am not saying this is the best one ever made It is a moderate priced stove top stainless steel percolator. The one I received the build quality was fine It does what is designed to do. If you say your pot makes crappy pasta chances are you are just not good at cooking pasta take a little time and learn how to do it right and you will enjoy it.
Bottom line: this is a phenomenal cold brew maker - IF you have time to filter. Pros: durable, simple, makes delicious cold brew, easy to clean, affordable Cons: when using pre-ground coffee, there is a ton of sediment, which takes time to filter out Worth it? Absolutely! I ordered this bad boy and couldn't wait to use it once it arrived. Easy: open, clean, fill the filter with grounds to the top line level on the jar (will leave a few inches on top - picture included). Then pour cold, filtered water slowly over the grounds, up just past the top line on the jar so all the grounds are submerged. I stirred the grounds for about 5 minutes. Seal the jar with lid. I did this at 4pm, and let the jar sit out until I went to bed, which was around midnight. Then I stuck it on the fridge. At 9am the next morning, I stirred the grounds once more, then dumped them. Cleaning the filter was a breeze with a soft baby bottle brush. I then went through the painful process of filtering out the sediment. A lot of people won't do this because it is time-consuming and you do lose a little bit of coffee. But honestly, losing a bit of coffee is worth having clean, filtered coffee in my mind. I transferred the cold brew to a bowl, where I mixed it with a simple syrup I had just made. Then I rinsed out the jar and began filtering. I used a pour-over with a coffee filter to strain all of the sediment out. It took about 20 minutes and required multiple coffee filters, but was 100% WORTH IT. The end result was a delicious, balanced, robust and CLEAN cold brew that I immediately poured over ice and added cream to. Wow all around. Everything about this system is great, but the tedious process of filtering again means minus 1 star. I had found another cold brew system with a second filter and do wish I had gone with that one. Regardless, this is a fantastic option if you're either 1) open to sediment; 2) grind your own beans and use a more coarse ground; or 3) have time to filter. Pictures included - paper towel roll for size reference. Stir spoon and filtering process included.
