The quality is not near as good as a professional machine but ultimately it gets the job done. I would say this is good for people who are always on the go or looking for convenience and a cheaper option. I would say heating the shot makes it better. But overall it accomplishes what is advertised just keep your expectations realistic.
Very disappointed in coffee grounds basket design. Worst Krups machine I have owned in the last 25 years. Would not buy again.
What's this 3 star stuff? Keep all parts clean and move plastic parts gently. No prob. Here are my EFL ESPRESSO directions: 1) Fill metal one cup measure or pitcher with 1/3 cup 2% milk and place in freezer, see photo A. 2) Fill Espresso filter cup with 2-4 coffee measures, more for robust flavor 3) Gently tamp down coffee (I use a bent tiny spoon) see photo C. 4) Attach to bottom of machine 5) Swivel out steam nozzle 6) Rotate upper side knob to cup diagram 7) Fill carafe with desired water and add to chamber 8) Place carafe under spigot so pulls straight out, see photo C. 9) Press lowest power button on Espresso side of unit (red light comes on) 10) Turn off knob and button. Enjoy fine Espresso. TO FROTH? 1) Gently open steam chamber, add 1/2 carafe cup of water 2) power Espresso unit on 3) remove milk cup from freezer 4) set side upper knob to steam, see photo B. 5) Immediately place milk cup under nozzle and slowly swirl, stop after some 10 seconds of vigorous bubbling until thick 6) add to coffee and enjoy OR pour cup of creamed coffee over half cup of crushed ice in a Bullet machine container and mix 3 seconds for a delicious iced latte. 7) clean nozzle by steaming into cup of water.
This is a very pretty coffee maker but I am a little bummed by the color. I was hoping it would match my cream colored toaster; unfortunately it is more or a beige gray color than cream. In the photos on the website it looks more cream than in person.
This thing has allowed me to stop putting sugar in my coffee. Cold brew is just so much less bitter. Just a little milk and it's ready to go! The only thing is I'm confused by people mentioning how much it needs to be diluted, it's very pleasant as is
I expected a lot more out of a $250 coffee maker. It looks fancy and all but it's locking some basic features such as an automatic shut off. It does not keep the coffee warm. It's big and awkward to move. A little tricky to learn how to operate. The hot water feature is really nice as long as it doesn't need a rinse or more water. You can't schedule it to run either.
Filter leaks grounds into the coffee, which doesn't make sense.
This coffee maker would be great for a guest room, travel, boats and RVs. Here’s why: PROs - Brewing time consistently ranges from 2 min 58 seconds to 3 min 15 seconds. - Heats liquid to 162 degrees. - Lightweight, compact design for travel and small countertops. - Easy to follow instructions written on side - great for guests. - Allows up to 6” tall travel mug when tray is removed and 12 oz of liquid. - Has a filter to keep particles from getting into water reservoir. - Easy to pour water into reservoir. The main opening is small but has a large square area around that catches and funnels any spills. - Great value! - Clean styling. CONs No performance issues yet. Only two very minor complaints: - When the tray is removed to allow for a taller mug, there are two ridges on the bottom that cause the cup to be unstable and tip slightly if the cup is not wide enough. - Lack of other color options such as white or stainless/gray. - The plastic does look a little cheap but that’s to be expected at this price range. I purchased this coffee maker for our boat, where space is extremely limited. There are lots of single serve options out there, but none that are less than 10” high, which is the exact space between the galley counter and overhead cupboard. I bought this machine solely based on its size and was pleasantly surprised by its performance. It is a bonus that the instructions are written directly on the side, so that friends can see for themselves how to use it. It would be great for a guest room and is so lightweight it would be easy to pack. I wasn’t looking for perfection, but it actually brews a hotter cup than our current single serve Cuisinart. It may take a bit longer, but I’m not one to mind waiting a couple minutes more for a hotter cup. Our former Keurig never brewed this hot before it died. That one was crap - especially for the high price. I don’t expect this one to last forever but we’ll see... So far so good. Recommend! PS - I feel compelled to add that the “coffee exploding” complaint can be an issue with any brand, if you don’t push the K cup completely down, rather than relying on the top to compress it for you. This happened with our Cuisinart also. The coffee will explode out the top when the K cup has not been pushed down properly and punctured at the bottom. Also I believe in using filtered or bottled water, which is recommended to keep calcium deposits from forming. I have tried using both tap and filtered, and it’s not just a taste issue. The machine does last longer. If you occasionally clean the spout, that helps as well.
This is my first Nespresso Vertuoline machine and I love it. I got it on sale for $113 on Black Friday with the milk frother. Let's start with the ease of use of this espresso machine. You press the top coffee button and the machine warms up, the green light becomes steady and it's ready to brew. Put in your favorite capsule and close the top lid and press the coffee button. Did I mention the motorized capsule lid? The lid opens and closes itself with a touch of the lever and disposes the capsules into its bin on the back of the machine. Milk frother is even easier to use. Just pour the milk in and press the button. Adding the froth of milk makes you feel like a real barista! You can totally make the same exact drinks as they make at Starbucks for the fraction of the cost. And the drinks are super strong depending on which intensities you choose. I paired this machine with double-walled coffee/espresso cups also purchased on coffeemakers.us.com. Much better than your everyday ceramic cups so you can see what you're drinking and the art you just created in the cups. I also purchased the storage drawer holder for capsules that stores the capsules and machine on top (see pics)! This is like any other home appliance. You have to upkeep things like this. Clean it. Maintain it. If you don't do any of these things, things will eventually break. And for the people that gave this product 1 star, return it if it's broken?
I don't normally post reviews but for when I am really impressed with a product. This coffee maker is simple to use and just makes straight coffee at home in a carafe that is like a thermos. It keeps it hot but you are able to touch the carafe and place it on the table as it stays cool on the outside. Follow the instructions as a baseline for 5 oz. of water per cup to 2 Tablespoons of regular ground coffee. You simply press one button and in 6 minutes, you have hot coffee that isn't watered won. I am an average coffee drinker. I have a cup every morning. I resorted to buying coffee every day after having tried multiple coffee makers made by the popular brands over the years like Krups, Mr Coffee, Keurig, etc. I have always been disappointed personally as I felt that the coffee seemed watered down. I decided to research on coffeemakers.us.com trying to identify the top 2-3 coffee makers with a high number of reviews and with 3+ rating. I read through the reviews and settled on this one and I am not disappointed. This model does not have an automatic timer and no built-in grinder but I am ok with that and was not expecting those features with this model. I am happy that I got what this product advertised which is just a simple coffee maker with one button. Fill the water, put the coffee in the filter, press the button and In 6 minutes you get coffee in a carafe. I posted two simple photos as I find that the reviews with real photos I think seem like they are real people posting and better verification that a real consumer posted the review.
There is an obvious design flaw that can cause the drip from the basket to leak around the pitcher instead of going into the pitcher. See the two photos I posted above. The tea outlet nozzle is oval and off-center. For some reason, as the tea drips through this nozzle it tends to pull to one side. Under the best of conditions, this dripping tea just BARELY stays below the edge of the pitcher lip. If the pitcher is not fully inserted as far as it will go, the tea could drip around the lip, and onto the counter. This design flaw is two-fold: first, the oval nozzle is off center; second, the pitcher pouring lip is not quite tall enough, nor is it quite shaped the way it should be to minimize the chance of drip. Short of reshaping the lip of the pitcher to allow it to better conform to the outlet of the tea brewer, the quickest solution is to raise the pitcher approximately 1/4" by putting something (such as a mouse pad) underneath it. As far as any drips or leaks from the back side (opposite where the outlet nozzle is) that others have commented about, I did not encounter those, but there is an overflow port on that side. If the water chamber is overfilled, or if it is moved too quickly while full, water will leak out this overflow (as it is designed to do). Besides this particular port, some other leaks that others have commented about sound like they are due to leaking fittings in the water chamber.
Gave this coffeemaker to my mom for Mother’s Day as her old one was leaking. As I was setting it up for her, I noticed the filter handle did not fit snugly into the reservoir. It is far too loose and keeps tipping over. Not sure if I should exchange it or see if I could purchase a new handle. Even the handle from the old model didn’t fit. I wonder if the wrong size was included or if the black piece it hooks to was too small. I would appreciate anyone elses’s opinion. Other than this, it works perfectly.
Doesn’t line up and I can feel the glass groves too much. Thought to return in the event it breaks but decided to just keep it another may have the same defects. Handle is a little weak too. But, the seal is amazing, leak proof.
Este producto es excelente la calidad que hace el café
I rarely write product reviews, but I’m so pleased with this product I am reviewing it on the same day I received it. The fine foam and its cascade is so beautiful and creamy. It’s even better than the nitro coffee I’ve had at some cafés. The chargers are a bit pricey, but still cheaper than going to a café. I’m going to order a bunch of them to get a bulk price. Thanks Hatfields!
