Sadly they use a cheap gasket which appears to have melted against the glass while either in storage or transit. The lid could not be removed without the gasket sticking like it was glued to the glass. This was one review where I had to include pictures.
Really happy with this coffee pot. Once taken out of the box it was wrapped tightly in plastic, so I think it could have handled a drop or two if it happened on the way to me. The main feature that drew me in was that it’s dishwasher safe. Everything except the base, can be tossed right in with your dishes once a week or so. I always hated that I couldn’t clean my old one as well as I wanted so this is a great upgrade. Everything comes apart quickly too, so you’re not spending more time than necessary trying to pry it apart or put it back together. Brewing was quick, and only takes a few minutes, which is always a bonus first thing in the morning. If you’re brewing a large pot but just can’t wait for it to finish, there’s a pause feature that allows you to quickly pour a cup then let it finish while you’re already enjoying it. As a new mom, this might be my favorite part of the whole thing. I love the reusable filter. It allows more oils and flavor from the coffee to be brewed into your cup so you’re getting an even better flavor. On the mornings I don’t have time to clean it, I can use a paper filter just like your regular coffee pot uses. The display is brightly lit and there’s a loud beep to let you know when it’s shutting off the warmer so you can grab that last cup while it’s still hot. I’ve been using this for almost a week now, multiple times a day and have never had a bitter cup of coffee. It’s been delicious every time and that makes it a keeper! I hope this review has been helpful!
This Keurig is priced very reasonably and works just fine as long as you read the small print. With its height just under 12 inches, it fits nicely on the kitchen counter. Even with the lid up, it stands clear from the upper cabinets. Things can get slightly complicated if you place a drawer under it. This is the smallest brewer from the Keurig line with a reservoir out back. The auto shutoff comes very handy at times. I just love it when things shut off on their own. Now on to the small print. You think coffee is always made by brewing? Well, there's brewing and there's pod brewing. To add to the confusion, the K-compact belongs to the latter category. That is, it's a Pod brewer and uses K-cup Pods for its mission. The K-cup pods are genetically different from K-cups and produce less waste, therefore are environmentally friendly. The problem is, you can’t mix them. Should you go ahead and mix them anyway, you'll end up with a mess on your hands. This is just the matter of a compatibility. It’s like Windows and Mac. To help with the confusion, I would have called them K-cups and K-pods, respectively. That is, if you ask me. Overall I love my new K-compact Keurig and recommend it to anyone without reservations. #1. The time on/off never worked #2. The glass carafe stains easily and doesn’t come off when washing. #3. No matter what cup setting I set for a pot, it only brews 6 cups. #4. The k-cup side works good. I will never buy another keirig product again. Over rated and many as quality issues. Buyer beware.
Makes coffee as it should. It's a little difficult filling with water as the lid is hinged on the back and has a plastic attachment ( for stopping grounds from splashing up I assume) that makes it tight for pouring in the water. It has a reusable filter which I prefer.
I love it it was just what I was needing. Perfect for in the morning then head to work. I would give it five stars but the coffee cup it came with had liquid in between the inside wall and the outer shell just after a couple of uses so I used another coffee cup and it works great!
This product did not last six months.
The coffee from this Fellow Stagg [XF] Pour Over definitely better and a little stronger with the same water/coffee ratio and a better yield. I did a taste test using a simple manual drip coffee maker and the Fellow Stagg [XF]. For the test I scaled purified water and coffee to to a hundredth measurements. For the coffee I used SF Bay Coffee Colombian Supremo which I had already determined a very good coffee. I used the same measures for both brews and recommendations of the pour over instructions. Water 10.02 OZ Coffee 20.00 gm Coffee ground absorption yield Pour over 8.68 POZ Drip coffee maker 8.04 My rating Pour over 10 Drip 7 Both cups were very good but the Fellow Stagg [XF] Pour Over was a few steps stronger and absorbed less of the water yielding more coffee than the drip unit. The pour over does take a little more time, the proprietary filters do cost more but also yield more coffee. Taste over all I enjoyed the pour over best but results closer than I might have expected. In the end I will use the pour over and leave the drip maker for the rush days I occasionally have. I enjoyed the involvement making the brew with the pour over and the aroma in incredible while pouring.
This isn’t a bad little single serve coffee pot. The max water level makes a decent sized mug. Getting the ratio of grinds to water down has been a journey, but the included strainer is pretty large so the strength can really be adjusted. There’s suction cups on the bottom and while that’s good to keep it from tipping over, it’s quite annoying when I want to move it. The two piece base allows me to get the cup close to the spout, but one annoyance is that at the end of brewing it sprays coffee all around the cup onto the counter. Not enough to make a real mess. Just enough to be annoying. You can also use any type pods you find and that’s a plus too..
I have to say I loved this cold brew Pitcher so much I had to buy a second one. I initially bought the red one for my mom for christmas and she absolutely loved it. And since we don't always agree on coffee flavors. I had to buy the white one for myself. I have a few other brands of cold brew pitchers , but this is by far the best. The biggest selling point is the grounds holder in the center. I love that it has the little screw piece on the bottom that releases for easy cleaning. It makes things so much easier. Because I love cold brew so much i'm basically making coffee every other day.
So far I've been delighted with our purchase. Makes great coffee and the touch screen feature is so convenient. Easy to maintain and clean too. There is a plastic basket to help funnel ground coffee into your 'portafilter'. If you don't remove the basket from the portafilter, before you brew, it can get caught in the machine - so be careful (adding a picture of the piece in question). This is the only watch out I've come across in an otherwise great purchase. 5 stars!!
I love this coffee maker, it just as good, tasty, fast and hot as a Keurig, if not better.. sure, it doesn't use pods... that's not important to me, Coffee tastes much better with this little machine and it small enough to fit in my little kitchen, yet big enough not to be to small. Love it 😀 😍
Arrived broken. Will be returning for a full refund.
This model has the coffee filter in a door that swings open to put in the coffee. The latch usually lets go during the brew cycle and the door opens. I use a bungee cord to keep it closed.
