Extremely cheap plastic parts and poor design. Bought for Christmas 2022 after watching great reviews on the internet. Have owned only two months! In first picture there is a broken plastic tab on the left that holds down the coffee ground filter basket. This allows a spring loaded valve under it to open. Without it, I'm having to use weights from exercise equipment (picture 2) to hold down the filter ground basket and open the spring loaded valve so coffee will drain into the carafe and not flood my counter top. Even cheap coffee makers I've had in the past did not break after only two months. Do Not Purchase This Product!
I have a “thing” about stuff that juts out onto the counter top - I’m not a fan of most coffee makers because they tend to take up a lot of counter space and in general they are not terribly attractive. THIS on the other hand is beautiful, beautifully made and makes fantastic coffee! - and it comes apart for cleaning! Absolute perfection! (I’ve uploaded a video of how this fits together) Pros: - Great coffee - Disassembles for cleaning - Takes up minimal counter space - Hoping quality construction lasts for many years Cons: - Pot “exits” from the side - you pull the pot out sideways to pour coffee instead of pulling toward you; not that big of a deal at all but wanted to mention it.
My 2007, very simple Mr. Coffee maker finally said enough! Simple means, an on-off button, only. My former coffee maker did not have timers, programming, clock, etc., yet it served me well. I was wanting another similar coffee maker, Nothing expensive, and after reading reviews I decided to buy the Bella and I couldn’t be more pleased. Sure, it came with many more features than an on-off button, and all the features are wonderful. One nice feature is the machine will turn off after 2 hours. Poor Mr. Coffee saw a few burnt pots. Love the permanent filter! I really like the bold perk feature and will use this often. I’ll definitely be using the programming feature to wake up to a freshly brewed cup of coffee. I have had my coffee maker a few days, now, and no issues I read with other makers of the same class/category. The Bella Coffee maker makes a clean brew, the carafe pours well, no leaks. All around perfect!
After reading many reviews of a variety of brew systems I chose County Line. The jar arrived in good condition and the mesh filter has no sharp edges. Filled the filter with coffee, added water and left it to brew. Jostled the jar periodically as I was told it brews faster if the grounds are disturbed. Getting the coffee from brew to drink was an adventure. Hopefully batch 2 will be easier.
UPDATE #2: Thinking that perhaps the Afresh cleaning tablets weren’t up to the job, I ran an entire gallon of vinegar through the machine. Between the actual vinegar, and then the tanks of clean water to get all the vinegar cleared out, this took the better part of the day. But it worked (sort of) - I had great coffee once again.... For two days. Then it started getting progressively more watery. I’m fairly certain that what’s happening is, like a clogged shower head, the individual jets of water are no longer spraying straight down - some are shooting off to the side, bypassing the coffee completely. (I think this also accounts for why it’s brewing a whole mug of coffee in under 30 seconds). My husband wants to take the whole thing apart and mess with it. I require all devices that I encounter daily, pre-caffeine, to just work, so I’ve already replaced this with a no-bells-and-whistles $30 standard drip coffeemaker, and husband can have the Braun as his overpriced little project. UPDATE: It’s been a year and a half since I purchased this coffee maker and I am not happy. It has become wildly inconsistent. Doing the exact same thing each morning gives me a different cup of coffee every day. Everything from the dreaded “lightly coffee flavored water”, to bitter and undrinkable, and everything in between. Using the “bold” setting has remedied the “coffee water” issue, but I still get anything from “ok” to “undrinkable” while making no changes to my process at all. With the caveat that I’m writing this after owning the machine for three days (I’ll edit later if necessary), I really like it. When my 9-yr-old Keurig died, I wanted to replace it with something more environmentally responsible. And while I’m the only one in my house who drinks coffee, when my parents visit, they want a whole carafe full. So this is the best of both worlds. I haven’t made a full carafe yet, but I’ve made single cups and have some thoughts.... The directions say to use three small scoops of coffee (a large and small scooper is provided) for a 12oz cup of coffee. No. No no no no no. That was the most bitter cup of coffee I’d ever tasted. I cut it back to 2, and with some creamer and a little sugar, it was fine. I cut it back to 1.5 scoops and didn’t need the sugar. A lot of reviews mention the height of the machine, and it is pretty big. It fits under my cabinets, but there’s not enough clearance to open the compartment where the filter goes and lift the filter out. To solve this problem, I put felt sliders over the rubber feet on the bottom of the machine. Now it’s simple to slide it out to deal with the filter, and then push it back. I really wish the little accents weren’t bright green. I can’t imagine that color really goes with anyone’s kitchen. Surely not mine. I’ve seen complaints about the operation of the machine but it’s pretty straight forward. The clock stays on all the time, so no problem there. You just choose your brew size, hit the “power” button which lights up all the other brew options, chose Light, Gold, or Bold, and you’re done. It’ll just start doing it’s thing automatically. After it’s done it “powers off” (the clock is still on, but accidentally bumping a button isn’t going to start a pot of coffee brewing) The water tank isn’t huge, but that was a selling point for me. Keurig’s water tank is gross! Who wants to brew coffee with three-day old water, in a tank covered in biofilm?! With this I just put in approximately as much as I need, and later dump out any extra and let the tank dry. I did see advertised that this machine has a “filter.” It’s just a tiny little thing to remove chlorine. Rather than remembering to replace that, I’ll just use filtered water to fill the reservoir. The gold-tone coffee mesh coffee filter is perfectly fine. I don’t know why you’d choose to use a paper filter in this machine, but the instructions say you can. One last thing to note - the first part of the serial number of this particular model is KF917. Most of the models on the market are KF907. The “1” indicates that this version has a separate dispenser for hot water. It’s right beside where the coffee comes out, so it’s hard to tell the difference between the two machines. Make sure you know what you’re buying. I’m writing this the weekend after thanksgiving when the 907s are significantly cheaper than the 917. But, that water dispenser was a major selling point for me. If it’s not for you, save yourself some cash and look at the other model. So to summarize, if you are looking specifically for a no-Kcup drop machine that will do multiple single-cups sizes, AND a carafe; and a machine that has a separate water dispenser; and you’re not bothered by the height and can play around with the amount of grounds required, I highly recommend this coffee maker.
Works great and looked great; however, it has already developed discoloration on the bottom and sides that looks like burned marks. These marks are not visible from the inside. I have used it to make coffee and tea with water just below boiling.
t. This is really pretty spot on with my limited cold brew experience. Drinking it black and it's got good flavor without being bitter or harsh. The filter was easy to remove and clean, there is little to no visible sediment. I'd say this pitcher is a win! Looks like I'll get 2-3 cups from each brew, which is good since it takes almost a cup of grounds to make 1,000ml.
Lid is missing the seal
Item came very best up in a package that was clearly opened before and very damaged. Would not recommend
Brews some tasty coffee. Bought this (34oz, double wall, cork)for a Christmas present for my wife. We use this on the weekend when we have a little more spare time in the morning, though its really not much more time to make this coffee versus conventional pot or Keurig. We buy whole bean coffee for use with this pour over. Put water in small pot and start to boil on stove while grinding the beans (course to fine seems to work well). Put ground beans directly into filter, no need for additional paper filter (i can see the validity of others' comments where this would remove all the tasty oils and flavors youd otherwise be getting with the use of fresh ground beans and this type of filter). Make an initial pour to slowly add boiling water in circling motion (to cover all grounds uniformly), maybe 1/4 of your total water, then put pot back on stove to keep water as hot as possible. Let ground seep for 30 seconds, allowing it to puff up. Then add remaining water, also in slow, circling motion to allow for maximum grounds exposure to water. Water drips through and is finished 30+ seconds later. Initially we wondered if this method was that much better than traditional pot or Keurig, and answered our own question when having that type of coffee after we finished the Bodum pot. thats when you really notice how poor traditional pot/Keurig really tastes. The only negative so far was the packaging it came in - i cant believe it didnt arrive broken. there was a thin cardboard sleeve around the glass, which had slipped off, and some bubble wrap which didnt seem to being too much. Didnt take a star away because this was packaging/shipping, not the product itself.
I bought this french press to replace one I had for 5 years. After a few months of use it started to show signs of breakage. Coffee would spill if I moved it a certain way. Now it’s been one year and it’s completely useless.
I really liked it, but it arrived with the water tank broken, and from what I saw in other comments, this has already happened with other deliveries.
I’m in love. I had my doubts purchasing this machine but it’s working well for me so far and I’m saving money now that I’m no longer going to Starbucks. I bought some other items on Nespresso as you can see from the photos and really enjoy the coffees. I like the flavors more than the Starbucks nitro that I was getting before. You can make a variety of coffees from espresso to regular coffee. The machine reads the barcode label off of the coffee pod and it automatically makes it once you press start. It’s not very loud either. I recommend it!
What an amazing machine! I love that you can do espresso and coffee! Easy to use and heats up fast! The pod is ejected to a bin on the side for easy clean up, the frother works amazing and easy to clean as well, I can now make my favorite Starbucks drinks in the comfort of my home. It is sleek and shiny and looks great on the counter. It will do different size coffees and espresso so you can make any drink you want! It comes with 12 coffee pods from Nespresso to try out, I am obsessed!!
I took a picture of the size of the space available for coffee, if you put 2 spoon of grinded coffee the press cylinder can't go all the way, so it's impossible to put the cap. I gave 4 stars because I can't have portable coffee, nevertheless I drink coffee at my work, then clean the travel french press and it's not the worse product, at least it's easy to clean.
