Top. Notch. Coffee. Maker ! ! Makes amazing smooth coffee, featuring a timer which really makes our mornings and even a fancy pre-infusion cycle. The shower-head style water drip really gets all the grounds evenly covered and the coffee is hot hot hot when it comes out. The insulated carafe has also really improved the coffee for me as I’ll drink my coffee at times up to an hour after my husband, with this there’s no burnt coffee taste and I have no complaints on temperature. I would recommend taking the carafe out of the dock after brewing so that the point at the top where the coffee drips in seals up. Since the carafe is insulated it can go on any surface after brewing as it stays cool on the outside. We were looking for something that was not only easy to clean but also easy to repair. All of the daily use contact points can be taken out and cleaned and this really improves the taste of the coffee. I like the peace of mind of knowing parts can be replaced. I found this model originally because I was looking for a machine where the water tank could be removed. We had a mr coffee before and cleaning the water tank was a nightmare because everything was built in as 1 piece and the close proximity of the grounds basket to the water tank meant coffee grounds inevitably ended up in the tank. Problem solved with this beautiful machine. We haven’t muted it but its nice to have the option. It does three beeps when its done brewing and it is fairly quiet otherwise. We haven’t tried the iced coffee ratio yet, but we are psyched for Summer, given everything else exceeding our expectations we are confident this will deliver as well. Really glad we didn’t shell out for the moccamaster as this has way more features at a way more affordable price. Thank you Zojirushi!
This is a nice machine. It brews a very hot cup and the thermal carafe keeps coffee warm for hours. We can brew a pot at 7am and it is still very warm around noon. Fits on the counter nice and the front loading water fill is convenient and does not require you to move it out under the cabinet. Program start is easy too. Once you set the time it is just a quick on/off before going to bed.
I love this already! Why? Great Design! Water flows thru the metal filter just smoothly. Easy to clean! I 'm free from filters that sometimes broke...bubbled over, etc. and the hassle of always buying special filters...I wished I had discovered this 20 years ago....Thank you Kavako!!! and the Coffee is Smooth & Balanced!!! This product delivers!!!
It doesn't hold a tea
I loved this coffee pot at first. But that love wore off just like the buttons did. The plastic stains (I clean with vinegar/water every other week) and I now no clue which buttons program the clock and timers. I have to angle the entire machine in the light to figure it out. Not worth the price at all.
Okay, I initially really loved this machine. Sure, it seemed loud and odd sounding, but I figured I could overlook that for the novelty and convenience that is Keurig. Over the last few months however, I have gown from looking forward to brewing a nice cup 'o joe, and playful experimenting with all the super cool fun and fancy flavors, to being annoyed at the 50/50 chance of flooding water all over my kitchen counter. Almost none of the cups are full anymore, and wherein the option of a mostly full cup is typically better than nothing, a less than half full cup is just a flat out disappointment. :( This morning had the sudden realization as I trekked to the kitchen that the idea of dealing with this machine was actually causing me more stress than it's worth. Today, for the first time, I actually decided to skip coffee at home and just pick something up on the way to work. Sigh.... I was really really hoping this would work out.
After a lengthy search, I finally replaced my fragile and ailing, fancy Technivorm Moccamaster CD coffee maker with a Bunn VP17. On the plus side, this thing is built like a tank and appears to be ready for the long haul. And, since I've replaced the stock 180 Deg. F max thermostat with a Bunn Tea thermostat (Bunn p/n 03024.0005) capable of raising the output temperature to as high as 206 Deg. F max, the coffee I get outa this thing is top-notch, water at the output spray head measures 195 deg. (same as the Moccamaster), and all grounds are fully saturated. It produces an honest 12 cups of coffee (considerably more than the European-volume Moccamaster) in about three minutes, is much easier to clean up, and spare parts can be obtained way quicker and cheaper, due to this thing's commercial pedigree. I'm somewhat klutzy and know that I'll eventually have to buy a new glass carafe - which are really cheap to replace here on coffeemakers.us.com. On the minus side, it's big and the looks are somewhat "diner-industrial." I posted a picture of my Bunn VP17 on this site, so you can see what I mean - it BARELY fits under my kitchen cabinets. My wife doesn't really care for it, but I love it. This unit makes a serious coffee statement. In addition, the rectangular water addition door on the top of the unit drips a small amount of water onto the top of the unit every time you open it, requiring a minor wipe-up with a paper towel. Apparently, condensation builds up on the bottom side of the door and runs off when opened. I wish Bunn would have figured our a better answer in the design phase of their product line (this is a concern with users of other Bunn products as well). I've discovered that, if I put a full 64 oz. of water into the top of the VP17, I've got to use a minimum of 85 Grams of medium grind (a setting of 4.5 on my KitchenAid Pro Line Grinder) coffee to get good results. Less coffee in results in watery coffee out. I've read on the web that a "Connoisseur's Brewing Ratio" requires as much as 115 grams of coffee for the same amount of water, but I haven't gotten there yet. My favorite local coffee shop uses 8 oz coffee per gallon of water, which translates into approximately 113 grams per 64 oz - which I will work my way up to. They also advise to use a finer grind for milder roasts. We'll see about that too. If you're going to get one of these, be sure to order a Bunn 12-cup glass carafe or two, and search around for the Bunn 20216.0000 Stainless Steel SplashGuard Funnel to go with it. I wanted to skip the whole plastic adventure (taste and health concerns), so I scrapped the original plastic funnel. I'm sure you can tell, but I'll say it anyways: I really like this coffee maker and have used it every day since I got it two weeks ago. For personal, family or entertaining use, this thing cannot be beat!
I love this coffee maker so much I got one for work too. It does great hot or cold Coffee. I love that it can do a different size cups with the regular coffee grains. It’s very sleek looking and easy to clean. It brews a good strong cup of coffee pretty quickly.
This is great!! I can finally make cold brew coffee instead of buying iced coffee every morning. Cold brew tastes way better too. I used regular ground coffee I had in the fridge and it worked fine for now. Glass container is aesthetically pleasing! Great product and price!!
I've owned this coffee maker for about 6 months now. It has brewed great-tasting coffee without hiccup... until today. I turned it on and... nothing. Nothing was heating up and there was no water flow. As an electronics technician by trade, I popped the bottom open and found this KSD301-G thermostat was not giving power to the heating element. The contacts were stuck open. Since this device uses mechanical as opposed to solid-state switching, I fixed it as you would fix anything mechanical: I hit it with a hammer. Problem solved. I bought a cheap coffee maker, I expected cheap components and was not disappointed. So... uh... buy with confidence?
First of all, I received my covers on time and second, they were very rich in color, very beautiful. They add warmth to my kitchen. Just love them. Will recommend them to a friend.
I own several Italian automatic espresso machines (Saeco) that cost thousands of dollars. The Nespresso Vertuo machine produces a flavor, mouth-feel, and quality equal to (if not better) than my $3000 machines. Seriously, look no further for a true coffee house experience every morning in your own kitchen. I absolutely love this machine, and the milk frother (Aeroccino3) makes perfect creamy hot milk/foam that rivals any high pressure steam wand. This machine is extremely quiet (so is the aeroccino (milk frother)). The extraction technology is ingenious, as it creates a fine “pull” with the centrifugal technology, and the “crema” of the espresso pull is authentically thick. Depending on which computer coded pods you buy, it will pull a single (1.35 oz), double (2.7 oz), or lungo (5 oz) espresso shot. There are also pods for 8 oz regular coffee (strong and full flavored). The pods may be a little pricey, but compared to the price of a cappuccino at your local coffee shop- It’s a bargain. Look no further. This is the ultimate espresso/coffee machine. Just buy it, and you will thank me later.
Makes good tasting coffee but 10 months in, the plastic ring holding the hot water diffuser for the basket broke and found it in the grounds when I went to make a new pot. Totally not usable now. Working with their cutomer service now...they wanted me to send the whole thing back so it could be serviced-trying to convince them just to send me the part. For such an expensive unit, it is pretty plain and simple. Tells you to descale all the time and not intuitive how to clear the codes after you clean it. Next time I'll buy 3 Ninja coffee makers for the price of this one...
Good: -The bold button makes a stronger coffee including a shot for an expresso. -Compact size and the foldable frother. -Many of the parts are removable for easy cleaning. -My tallest tumblers fit in the coffee station. Bad: -I would prefer a longer cord. The cord is about 25 inches long not including the plug. -The machine takes a long time to begin brewing. It ranges from over a minute for the coffee shot to three minutes for regular brewing. -The water reservoir had condensation on the lid the following day. I found it helpful to keep the lid up after use until it is thoroughly dry. I ordered the Hamilton 49949 FlexBrew Single-Serve and Full Pot Coffee Maker. I like that this coffee maker is simple to use and its slim design fits in my limited space. The frother extension folds up and down easily for daily use. The bold brew shot makes a nice quick expresso coffee, but the taste did not yield what my full size expresso machine can produce. Overall, I like the features and size, but I would prefer a quicker cup of coffee.
