I'm trying to live a more toxin-free lifestyle, one of the things that I have done to do this is get rid of my plastic Keurig machine. I replaced it with this pour over Chemex. Little did I know it would improve many different things for me, including: The overall taste of my coffee, before I was buying pre-ground at the grocery store. I have since stopped and started buying a whole bean called purity and then I grind it down myself then pour it into this Chemex. Coffee tastes so much more better, it literally is like a art of its own. I use paper filters, pre wet them first. Boil up some water in my bodum kettle and then pour a little bit over the top to let the gases release and then I start pouring little by little until it reaches the little dot on the on the glass, the little dot on there lets me know that's a full cup. Cleans up well, super aesthetically pleasing to see it on my counter. Love the sound of the coffee dripping, I have no problem waiting just a little bit longer to do it this way than the , I have no problem waiting just a little bit longer to do it this way than the automatic coffee machines. Because I know that the way that I'm doing it is the healthiest way possible for my body.

French press coffee is by far the best way to enjoy fresh, hot coffee and Simpli Press really nailed it with their design. I've never had a cup of coffee so silky and deliciously strong! Three rubber seals line the mesh basket press to ensure none of the coffee grounds seep into your cup. It's easy to take apart, clean, and reassemble. It comes with clear instructions on how to use the French press and maintain it properly. There are clearly marked lines at the bottom of the carafe for your coffee grounds and lines showing where to fill your water. Pour the hot water (not boiling) in and let it brew for 3-4 mins, mixing it a little, and press down the basket while pouring the fresh, hot deliciousness into your favorite mug. It also comes with a spooly type brush to clean tough places, but I find it easier to clean right after using it. The Simpli Press French Press is a must for anyone who appreciates a great cup of coffee! I highly recommend giving this French press a try!

  • Overall, this is a nice coffee maker that brews a smooth tasting coffee. The first cycle I used was gold with the 12 oz cup size. It was nice to pull the shelf down and put my coffee cup right under the maker. It made just the right amount of coffee. I also tried the cold brew, as this is the preferred method for my husband. I followed the directions and used half a carafe size. I figured it would bring it up to the max cold brew level, which is about half a carafe. As you can see from the second picture, it did not. The next day I did full carafe, on cold brew, and it was closer to the max cold brew level. I wish that was specified in the manual so I knew how much I was brewing. I also used less grounds the second time and I enjoyed the taste a lot more than the first. The taste of the coffee from this maker is great! I feel like the water could be a little hotter. When adding creamer, it really takes the temperature down. It takes me several attempts to get the "on" button to work. I also wish the tone when done wasn't so loud. Overall, I will enjoy using this coffee maker the most for cold brew. A feature that I have not tried, that I believe would be beneficial, is the delayed brew. Sometimes it's nice to wake up to your coffee already made.

It wants me to clean it instead of brew the morning coffee. The H2O error is equally annoying. I gloved up and took the head off and cleaned it and still won't brew. I guess it's vinegar water with breakfast. Thanks Bunn! 6.4.22. This continues to be a problem. I've never had a Bunn. Mr Coffee had been fine until the last unit. Welcome to throw away society. 03.04.23 Same thing. It continues to flash clean no matter how many times I clean it. I had a cheap Mr. Coffeee for over twenty years and it never forced me to clean it. It never stopped brewing part of the way through. I only continue to use this to try ans get some perceived value from it. This piece brings mad shame to the Bunn name.

I always liked french press coffee but the glass carafe is easily broken and does not keep the coffee hot. I am a coffee snob who selects and grinds beans about once a week. This one liter size is great for me. The stainless steel looks good and keeps the coffee hot. The plunger is not pictured so I added a picture.

Recently tried this coffee pot for a week. In a nutshell, I am sending it back and I do not recommend it! Following are the pros and cons: PROS: -is quiet when making coffee -Pause feature is nice and easy to sneak a cup -Does not drip or leak from middle spout where carafe meets top portion of coffee maker. CONS (mostly): - Coffee maker continues to produce a severe/heavy/disgusting burnt plastic smell, even two weeks later. The first few days were really bad, seemed to dissipated a little after a few days but still smelled and tasted like burnt plastic with each use! Not fun to smell and not fun to taste each time! -Most recently when using, the water from top of carafe all of a sudden started leaking very badly all along side of coffee pot, then all of the coffee grains started pouring out over the side with water. In a nutshell, it was a massive exploding coffee grain mess that I had to clean up for an hour after making a pot of coffee! See attached photos for the mess this coffee maker made! -Plastic lid on top of glass carafe is very cheap feeling, for a $40 product, this feels like a dollar lid! Also the top plastic ware are you open to pour the water in also feels cheap. -Can’t believe Krups charges $40 for this rather cheap-feeling and leaking coffee pot! - I do not recommend this product, already sent it back!

  • Brewing over 300 cups of espresso and cappuccino’s, we love this machine these last few months I can say it’s fast and precise and was a good purchase. I dislike the cheap plastic coffee tapper, they could of done so much better even at this price point. It’s important to empty the drain plate reservoir after every 4th brew as it flushes out the very hot water after the brewing and you don’t want it to overflow having water all over the place and make sure you snap it into place correctly putting it back so you don’t get water all over the place on your next brew. We played around a lot with it figuring out what brew and settings we like best and we enjoyed the process of discovery. Having a good coffee bean grinder makes the whole experience one we enjoy everyday. Also get the double walled glass coffee cups and in multiple sizes. Can’t believe how much longer the coffee stays hot and it’s beautiful watching the multiple colors of coffee and frosted steam milk layers interact and swirl inside the cup. Don’t forget the cinnamon. 😀

  • I wanted a small, inexpensive single cup coffee maker to take to a vacation rental. I'm a coffee snob and the thought of using a tired, nasty drip coffee maker that too many other hands had touched was not something I cared to do. This little guy caught my eye because of the low price as well as the stellar reviews. You usually get what you pay for, so I was skeptical but decided to give it a go anyway. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the coffee that this little guy produces. I like my coffee strong, and that's exactly what I get. It is very easy to follow the directions (they are right there on the top of the coffee maker), and as long as you don't overfill the pot, you're fine. It takes a couple of minutes to brew a cup of coffee so it is not instant gratification, but I am happy to wait. For traveling, for a small office, a tiny budget, a limited amount of counter space, this coffee maker is perfect.

Makes the best coffee! Why did people ever stop using percolators?? I got the 4 cup pot and it makes coffee in no time. It’s a great size for my kitchen

I love this coffee "brewer" i use it daily. The only thing I'm not a fan about is that coffee collects in the lid. The seal could be moved up more to maybe not do this. You can remove the rubber seal but then the top doesn't fit right. It's easy to clean the glass is it's own piece. Handle is removable

I am a big tea drinker and I like loose leaf teas. This french press is perfect for my needs! It came nicely and securely packaged. It's very lightweight (lighter than expected), it hold hot water well. I love that the construction completely blocks leaves and separates liquid from loose leaves. I am happy I've got this item.

Just opened it.. love the fact it has a place in the back to hide extra cord that my bigger coffee makers don't have AND normal 12 cup filters fit! I didn't have to purchase special items.

  • We love coffee in our house. After going on vacation and being served coffee in a French press I knew I needed one. This press is so easy to use and clean.

I've had this coffee maker for years, love the thermal carafe that doesn't keep cooking your coffee like the glass carafes. Unfortunately the last one only lasted 3 years because of a design flaw that has been fixed! I had the DCC-1150 Series and I can't believe how many improvements there have been in this newer model. Check out the pics - the display is a million times easier to read with the blue backlight, the brew/clock/etc. settings are bigger and easier to read, the fill gauge on the side has plenty of overflow room, and even the internal spray is bigger to sprinkle hot water on ALL the grounds, not just drench those in the middle so the water leaches to the rest. The fill gauge on the older model didn't have a lot of overflow room, and hey, who doesn't pour a little too much water in the reservoir?! It dripped inside and unbeknownst to me, was slowly but surely rusting the plate on the very bottom and making a mess on the countertop. That seems to be fixed with the new design, but I still won't chance it. And the blue backlight on the timer, AWESOME! It was so difficult to read the timer on the old version, I just didn't do it. haha I didn't even have the time set correctly! Anyway, highly recommend!

I like to use coarse grounds, I usually use 12 oz to 48 oz of water. After I fill the carafe, I might add another cup of water just to flush out all the concentrate. The carafe has worked well for me, I use the lid for measurement depending how strong the concentrate is. After I'm done, I put the grounds in my garden for mulch, the nutrients and it seems to repel insects.
