I use this machine every morning. It's set to program and automatically brews coffee for me and it's hot and ready by the time I set it for. It's a very large capacity and keeps the coffee hot. It has a prefilter where you put the coffee grounds so you don't even need a paper filter, although you can still use one. Customer service is excellent and they stand behind their product as well.
Works as advertised. Smaller volume than my previous 4 presses. When considering this I couldn’t tell for certain how sipping worked. Flip up lid (preferable), or detachable lid like a thermos…not preferred. No photos or descriptions made that clear and seeing no pics of a flipped up lid I assumed the worst. It’s detachable, so more like a thermos, with a lid to lose all over the house, yards, in my various cars and trucks. I should probably see if I can order a replacement pack of lids now. Maybe add an air tag. Sips well though once you unscrew the thermos lid. I needed something in a rush and this seemed to have the fewest faults. Took a while to remember which direction to unscrew the stacking filters for cleaning…not intuitive. Two filters to rinse each time. Some assembly required ;) Does seem to filter the best of all my past units, but DO NOT COME CLOSE TO OVERFILLING. A mess. With these portable presses I find stirring the grounds to get them to sink helps with reducing overflow and reduces filter clogging as you press the filter down. 3 stars as lid was left unclear in the ad, and in anticipation of losing it soon.
Today, our coffeemaker stopped working. We bought this last Nov 2023. We loved it bec it was just the right size for our kitchen area and we use it when we want to brew 2 big cups of coffee instead of the single cup keurig we have. But now the switch stopped working. It won't click as if something was loose inside. We couldnt open it so we just have to throw it away.
This is the most poorly designed coffee maker. The water tank is so awkwardly small and split. It makes filling it obnoxious. To pour the last of the coffee from the carafe you have to turn it upside down and steam burns your hand. And the words on the buttons are great in a stainless steel front so I have to bend down and get like a foot away to read it( I can clearly read the same size font on other things.) And the price for such a crap coffee maker is ridiculous. I bought a mr. Coffee for $22 and it does the exact same thing.
This pour over coffee set is beautiful and high quality. The flawlessly smooth olive wood, glass and sturdy hard sided carrying case are beyond what I was expecting and do not disappoint. I cannot say enough good things about this set.
This is BY FAR the worst coffee maker I have ever used. 1. Sometimes it fills my cup up. Sometimes it only pours half an ounce and stops. It had literally wasted 3-5 pods MANY times just for me to get one cup of coffee. 2. The needles don’t pierce the top of the pod. This causes water and coffee grounds to get all over everything. My coffee always ends up full of coffee grounds. 3. WiFi does not work. I’ve had to spend 15-20 minutes every single morning going through the reconnection process just for it to disconnect minutes later. DO NOT WASTE TOUR MONEY ON THIS JUNK
I can't believe this coffeemaker is as highly reviewed as it is. First of all, the stainless steel carafe is impossible to pour because of the border at the top that goes in about an inch all the way around. When full, you have to tilt it 90 degrees just to get a slow trickle. When it's almost empty it is literally impossible to get the rest out without coffee spilling out the sides of the lid, so if you want to avoid spilling and wiping up every time the only option is to pour every cup over the sink, unless you're fine wasting half a cup of coffee every day, and even then you'll still need to pour it out before you brew the next pot. I know the reason for this is to keep the coffee hot, and this isn't unique to Cuisinart. All stainless steel carafes seem to have this design. I just don't know why most people seem to think this is ok. Another issue is the steam. Of course all coffeemakers need a way to allow steam to escape, but the steam is particularly strong with this one. The 3 holes at the rear top allow a strong layer of steam to hit the bottom of your kitchen cabinet doors even if you have the coffeemaker pulled out to the edge of the counter, and it's not a light steam. Even after just one use there was a clear film that you can't remove with a wet cloth. It's only visible in certain light and at this point is something I can deal with, but I certainly don't want to keep exposing my cabinets to this steam. Cheaper coffeemakers I've had have the steam holes on the side, or they just aren't as powerful and so the steam is not as thick. Unlike the pouring issue, this issue can at least be solved by having the coffeemaker somewhere outside the range of cabinets, such as on a cart, so that the steam has more room to dissipate. The third issue is that it is pretty much impossible for condensation not to drip out of the holes in the back and down the coffeemaker when you open the lid after brewing a pot. Not a huge issue but again, for a supposedly quality coffeemaker, having to wipe up water dripping out the back after every single use is not something you should have to do. I bought this coffeemaker thinking it would be an improvement and make my coffeemaking routine easier, not more difficult, than the cheap one I've been using for the past 10-15 years. Of course I didn't start using this coffeemaker until about a month after I purchased it, so by the time I realized all its flaws the return policy had passed, so now I'm out 90 dollars and have a completely useless hunk of stainless steel and plastic. It certainly looks cool, and the functionality is exactly what I was looking for. It just amazes me that supposedly reputable companies like Cuisinart can build products like this with such clear shortcomings. Did they not test it out themselves? Did they really think it's ok to have a carafe that only pours a slow trickle when full, and CAN'T pour out all the coffee without having to turn it completely upside down and spilling? And how is it that people are ok with this? Oh well I guess my standards are just unreasonably high. I'm just so sad that this is where we're at as a civilization. Every time I look at the coffeemaker I'm reminded of all the time spent researching to find the right one, the excitement of finally opening the box, and then the slow realization that I'd have to do it all over again after discovering one ridiculous design oversight after another. It's still sitting on my counter because I haven't had the time or energy to look for another one, but when I do, I'm pretty sure one of the cheaper models with the glass carafe will be the way to go.
Okay so let's start with the pros of this item. Pretty color. I ordered it in mint green. The unit itself is very lightweight plastic. It comes with everything you need including the two removable grounds baskets, a little measuring spoon and a lid for the to go tumbler. It has an easy push start button on the side and is compact enough to fit in most spaces including your camper or RV, studio apartment, office etc. It perks in about the same amount of time it takes to toast two eggo waffles, and the temperature of the coffee is nice and hot. The lid fits securely. I didn't suffer any drippage or spilling when I lifted the cup to drink or carried it in my purse. Now for the cons. Just one really and that is the lid was for me EXTREMELY hard to remove. I just threw it away once I did. If you have arthritis or weakness then this lid will require another person to get it off. To recap: cute lightweight machine pretty color brews hot and fast comes with everything you need to get started just add your coffee grounds and your cream. Drawback is the hard to remove travel lid. The main question is, would I buy this item again? I would say no. But only because the lid is useless for me.
I should have listened to the review that said the inside starting rusting soon after purchase. I prepared tea in this a SINGLE time after it was delivered today and pieces of the large metal component that surrounds the filter stand is flaking off. Poor build quality and deceptive marketing saying that this item has a "stainless steel interior and exterior". I will be returning this poorly built product and reporting the item description for incorrect product information.
The LCD thin black digital numbers are ridiculously difficult to see on the poorly illuminated gray background. The size of digital display is fine, but far too dim and without an option to adjust the brightness. Given the poor LCD display, we didn't use the unit so I can't say how well it brews coffee.
The Keurig function is wonderful and the white body is lovely, but doesn’t it ever occur to the designers of these small appliances how unsightly a black cord might be in a white kitchen. 🙄
I am completely disappointed with the quality of this glass container. I bought this as a gift for my husband and he was only able to use it twice before it cracked in two places around the spigot. It cracked while in the refrigerator and of course 10 days past the return policy. Up until this point I know my husband was pleased in every way with the product. Now we have a stainless steel spigot and filter and nothing else to show for it. I would not recommend this product purely on the quality of the glassware. If it was not for this flaw, I would be giving this five stars just based off of my husband’s happiness prior to it cracking.
The glass feels thin which isn't a problem, it's glass. But the filter came apart into two pieces within 20 days of use, which is a major bummer. Now I am left with a filter without a handle and some very sharp metal that I can see myself getting cut by while cleaning. EDIT - Phil from Coffee Gator reached out to me and asked how he can resolve the issue with my dissatisfaction of the product. Even though I had the options to receive a full replacement, refund, or another product, I asked for a replacement coffee filter since that was all I needed. Phil got the new filter out quickly and I am back in business with a like-new coffee maker. Overall impressions: - Customer service was great. - Product durability for the coffee filter was not what I was expecting, now that I know I will be a little more ginger with cleanup care. The only con I can see is that the heat loss from the pour over is enough that I have to re-heat the coffee once it is made, but this does not overall effect the quality or the flavor of the coffee. Thank you Phil for getting this fixed and for your great customer service.
What is the most helpful for me, is the ease of this coffee brew system. The instructions were plain and clear, not over worded. coffeemakers.us.com’s review system is very helpful too. I read what to watch out for, like missing O-rings or silicon gaskets that prevent leaks while draining. Nothing was missing from the box although I had to search for the paper filters. They were found inside the drainage container all nicely packed into a little zip-loc baggie. I poured 40 ounces of water over 3.5 Cups of roughly ground coffee, let it bloom, stirred then let it sit overnight for a total of 18 hours. I drained out exactly 32 ounces the next morning. I used 2 ounces of brewed coffee to 6 ounces of water. The flavor was good and there was no bitterness. I liked it better than my Keurig coffee maker and my old drip pot Mr. Coffee. It runs neck and neck with my French press pot as that seems like a different flavor only hot. All in all, I’ll need to get use to this system but in the end, what I like most about my OXO cold brew system is the flavorful smooth, less acidic coffee.
I bought this to replace my old coffee maker that recently stopped working. I was pleasantly surprised to find this was the exact same model and color! Love that it fits my big coffee mug and the bright pop of color it brings to my kitchen. Highly recommend!
