I’ve used Bonavita coffeemakers for many years both at home and in my various offices. It always makes a great cup of coffee. I weigh both water and beans to gets consistent cup. The Bonavita does the rest. That said, quality and quality control has definitely diminished a little over time. I had one of the original exploding glass carafes (that was replaced free). Recently I got this smaller one and immediately the machine felt less substantive than my older one. Hopefully it’s just more environmentally conscious in its materials. However the carafe leaked. I had read that this could be an issue. I got one of the defected models. That said I exchanged it for the larger version of this same model. I could not be happier with it. The pre-infusion is cool. The rest is as you should expect. The QC is something I hope Bonavita is working on fixing.

Ok, so if you put that you want your coffee stronger yes it’s going to take an extra minute, and I have no problem with that. The reservoir is like a half a gallon with a handle, love it! I think people expect a Starbucks shop in their kitchen from a lot of reviews I’ve seen, this machine is amazing an it also punches 5 holes vs one for more aroma strength and has a heat setting, I love it and I am picky

  • This is my second type of Cold Brew maker, and it far out-brews the first one. I like that the pitcher is glass and not toxic plastic. The CoffeeBear is easy to take apart and clean. The toughest part is when filling the grounds, I used a funnel to expediate that process. Emptying the grounds was a breeze with the removable bottom, and I love the silicon bottom on the glass pitcher. I let my cold brew in the fridge for about 15 hours and the taste was perfect for my coffee addiction. Overall, if you are a Cold Brew lover look no further than the CoffeeBear. Plus, I love the name it makes me smile when I pull it out of the fridge:)

I love my new brewer! It is nice to have the water storage as my previous brewer did not. I love the color options available for purchase. The coffee is hot, brew time is quick, the machine is easy to use. Also, Keurig customer service is fantastic! I also loved that you have the option of the pot for larger brewing options. Thanks Keurig for the free pods for this review.

I love coffee and have been using keurig for years and wanted got try something different and saw the great reviews on here for this machine. First impression is it’s sleek thin look. I love the storage of everything from the pod holder pocket to folding in the frother. The only reason I am giving this a 4 is because my coffee tasted like plastic when I made my first brew. I made a couple 8oz ones after to see maybe it needed to be used a couple of times. But it still smelled and tasted like coffee. I decided to descale it as directed on the manual and decided to run the entire 56oz of regular water afterwards just to really cycle it through. And so far the coffee doesn’t taste like plastic. I’ve seen a couple of people that haven’t had this problem upon first brew so maybe mine has been just in the box with plastic around it and the new warm weather effected it I’m not sure. I love the fact that there is an ice coffee selection. It brews the coffee at more of a room temperature so make sure there is still a lot of ice in your cup. Other than that I have not had any grounds explode on me like the 1 star comments. Or have had anything break. So I am a happy customer (:

  • I do like this carafe but it does come with a smaller filter than others and has a flat bottom. Why not just accommodate and supply a universal filter? I was expecting a universal pour over filter would fit and I could also use the others I have. They will technically work but do not fit nicely resting lip-to-lip on the rim and wobble a bit. Still I don’t think it would cause a spill, but you want everything to work as you expect when you’re buying. Would be such an easily fix by adding a little height to the top portion. Otherwise works as you’d expect. Glass is thinner than other brands. The bottom of mine seems so thin that when I tapped on it I was afraid I might tap right through it. Thin as tissue paper. If you’re sitting on a stone counter, expect a break sooner than later. I already use a rubber bar mat at our coffee station. Unbreakable brand is misleading if you don’t know what borosilicate glass is—not sure what’s going on there. Measurements seem accurate and this is why I’ll keep. Seems hard to find these with good measurements. I’m generally way more careful with things than most people and hope I can make it last a year before it breaks. Will know to look for these things when it’s time for the next one!

  • Hamilton Beach this is not acceptable for a product such as coffee maker to die in such a short amount of time! I purchased this product back in Sep 7, 2022, It started to malfunction before March of 2024. Over time most of the water started being wasted through excessive steam. I pour in 12 ounces of water only for less than 7 ounces of coffee to be made. Unacceptable. I bought this because I did not want to impact the environment by using K-pods. These companies must think and care about the environment. Because now my coffee maker would end up in the landfill with many hard PO items.

Living in the desert,I live on Cold Brew Coffee in the summer. What a great carafe set up this is to make the process easier. It has a mesh cone insert that screws into the lid for the coffee grounds. No messy straining when it’s done… it just lifts right out! The size is compact so it fits neatly in the fridge, but still holds a lot of coffee! I like that it’s glass so it’s easy to clean the coffee stains, unlike plastic versions of Cold Brew makers. It’s nice enough to put on the table with company. Also, I’ve used it for sun tea! I put the bags in the mesh cones and when the tea is brewed, just unscrew the cone and toss the bags. So much easier than trying to grab the bags out with tongs. I highly recommend this product and it makes a nice gift for the iced coffee or tea lover.

The plastic that the coffee drips into is fantastic the filter is a piece of crap after 2 uses the filter broke off the base that sits on the plastic cup. I am not endorsing the purchase of this pour over product . I will be asking for a refund.

  • Thank god for this machine. Keurig and other coffee machines pale in comparison to the quality of coffee you get with this machine. Yes, Nespresso virtuo pods can get pretty expensive if you ask me but they are super convenient and super delicious tasting coffee. I’m Italian so I’d like to think I have a great appreciation of fine espresso and coffees and I can’t drink regular drip coffee now that I have this. If you want to be stingy, you can get the reusable foils designed specifically for Virtuo machines—I take a sharp box cutter and remove the top foil from a used pod, I fill it with Medaglia D’oro (delicious espresso), I then take a regular pill bottle top the same diameter as the pod and PRESS IT DOWN COMPACT and lastly place a foil on top! That’s it! Super inexpensive and just as tasty. - TIP- use the weekly CLEAN FUNCTION on your Nespresso machine more often if you are using foils because grinds can easily get stuck. To do this, close and lock your machine with no pod inside, wait for light to turn solid and then push button three times quickly. Ensure you have enough water in your reservoir and place a large cup to catch the dirty water. I did not even know this clean cycle existed until my machine clogged up and I called Nespresso for support which is when they explained that this should be done weekly! Who knew… Hope you find this helpful!

  • Did a lot of research on home espresso makers, and finally decided on this one and it was definitely the right choice. Very flexible, and has a interactive liquid crystal display for different drink types... even allows you to program a choice for your own personal tastes which is great. I've had it for over a year-and-a-half now and it is not broken and still is used every single day. I would go online and watch the videos so you can learn different techniques and tricks. The instructions are not the greatest. The most important thing about this unit as well as any espresso maker is the quality of the beans. You must use fresh coffee beans. That cannot be stressed enough. Pass on the Starbucks at the grocery store or the Starbucks at the Starbuck stores. Try to find a store that actually specializes in selling beans only and you will see a big difference in the quality of the pour it comes out more like a syrup and taste great. I also checked the temperature of the espresso as it was being pulled, and it was 185F, so I don't have this problem that other people are mentioning.

The glass carafe cracked after 3 weeks. Requested a replacement and let's see how long it will last. Be reminded that you cannot use alternative coffee carafe due to its brew-pause function. If one examines the carafe carefully, he will find the glass is too thin. The performance filter is not as good as I thought: There are leakage of coffee powder. The time-saving is not as significant as I thought: Need a lot of clean for filtering system and grinding system (every 7-8). Maybe I am too lazy...but that is why I made this purchase.

  • We are not coffee connoisseurs but we love coffee, my husband likes it black and I like it with milk. We have a few other coffee machines, but we wanted one that makes a big jar (and no pods). This machine is perfect for what we wanted. Easy to set up ( even if at first we spend like 1 hour trying to figure how to change the clock!!) and use. The machine itself is HUGE so you need to have a pretty good space on your table top. And height room for when you open the water dispenser. You can make a jar or a single cup. It maintain your coffee on the jar warm. Love the filter that comes with it. Still need to try it for iced coffee. But is not something that we are used to drink. Recommended.

Rarely give a “1” star before. Con’s: I tried repeatedly w/ the directions, I yup the top ~ did not work. Looks like an appliance in a kids doll house small. My Keurig died so if you have a solid 4 cup type. I was during for my 1/2 cup o Joe and that Keurig was great but too bulky. Where’s those old white Mr. Coffees we had as kids?? Lol ****im too busy to send it back, so I’ll either offer it to friends that could probably figure it out !! Pros: cute, small doesn’t take up a lot of counter space. The cool pops a light turquoise ish that’s what I saw!!
