Surprised how quickly the hot water starts flowing to the coffee grounds. This Mr. Coffee produces smoother coffee than my keurig machine. The coffee grounds get soaked for a longer period of time which really makes a difference in the taste, I drink multiple cups so it’s nice not having to load and reload the coffeemaker. Definitely tasting much better than the small cups from keurig . Now I’m giving away my keurig for free. 5 Stars.

I drink my coffee black, so taste wise on a scale of Keurig (1) to pour over (10), 10 being best, I rate this a 6-7. I’ve never owned a Black and Decker coffee maker, but I’ve had their toaster ovens for years, and thought I’d give it a try since I needed something that could make larger amounts of coffee at a time. I’m very glad I chose this unit. I think it looks really good in my kitchen and I like the size of the footprint. Features I like and use are brew strength, cleaning function, and the timer setting on the warming plate- which brings me to the 4 stars: I don’t know if it’s just my unit, but the plate runs so hot that after just 30 minutes, the coffee started tasting a little scorched. That’s not a deal breaker for me since I have a stainless carafe, but if you want to use the warmer, that’s a consideration. Otherwise, it makes really good coffee for an auto-drip. Some reviews complained about how the water goes in. I do have to pull it out from the wall and open the cabinet door above it, but that’s where I store all my coffee paraphernalia anyway, so not a big deal to me. Besides, I’m old enough to remember when the first Mr Coffees came out and between those first models and percolators, it’s something I’m used to doing since they all filled from the top. Cleaning: when I first got the coffee maker, the first few batches tasted appliance-y, so I had to do a cleaning cycle off the bat. That fixed the issue, so you might need to do that as well. The glass carafe, basket, and rest of unit are easy to clean. I just wipe down the inside of the lid and the shower head with a paper towel between cleaning/descaling cycles, and the unit looks like new. Given all the pros and cons, I think the pros win and recommend purchasing this coffee maker.

This is a full drink station in one machine! It is so convenient. You can literally make almost any coffee or tea drink in minutes. And it is so user friendly. The controls are very intuitive. They color coded the tea and coffee inserts, green for tea and orange for coffee. And the machine knows the difference. As soon as you put one in, a light on the front shows up in the same matching color. The instructions are so easy to follow, I had a child make his own iced tea with no help! With this brand, tou know you are getting quality. It is a good sturdy machine. The display wipes clean very easily. It brews consistency every time. You get a great tasting drink with every brew. The video I added shows the iced coffee option, but I have tried them all. It's like having my own personal coffee shop. I can add my favorite syrups and creamers and it is just like getting Starbucks. It is pretty cool that the clock switches to a timer to count down exactly how long until your drink is ready. And when you make a full pot.of coffee, it counts up to show how long it has been there! Literally the only minor little qualm I have, is that the drip function doesn't always empty completely when I make hot tea. I have tried it with both loose tea and a tea bag, and there is usually about 2 tablespoons left in the insert. If you don't empty that, it will slowly drip down onto the warmer plate.

  • I'm in LOVE. I bought this because it was stainless steel. I liked that because I broke our last coffee pot. Hoping this one is indestructible 😉. Easy to clean and set functions. Not loud. Does not take long to brew. No beep when it's finished but that's okay. I put a dish towel down so that it doesn't get messy if the water splashes out of the overflow hole in the back. My hubby made coffee today at 7am and it is still hot 5+ hours later!! That's freaking awesome!!! Totally worth it. Get it while it's on sale!!

After my grocery store stopped carrying my favorite cold brew, I started looking for alternatives, and eventually decided making my own was the way to go. I specifically wanted to avoid brewing and storing in plastic if possible, and I figured being able to make 4-7 day’s worth at a time would be ideal. This cleverly designed filter did the trick! It was easy to pick up some standard 64oz mason jars locally and the filter arrived before my last bottle ran out. Brewing was straightforward and I appreciated the notches that give a guideline so I don’t have to measure anything. The first brew was quite silty, but then I read the tag and saw that the cotton bag that it comes in is also a perfectly sized second filter. After using that, the coffee comes out clear and tastes great. If you’re only making coffee for one person, you might want to get the smaller 32oz system instead. The brewing process is much easier than I expected, so it’s no trouble to make fresh batches every few days, or even every night. The jars are cheap and easy to buy in a set, and the 32oz jars were more available than the 64oz in my experience. You could also try different beans or concentrations more often, which is something I’m excited to do after my first try came out so great. Overall, I’m very happy with this brewer.

We had a 2 Quart maker years ago. We had quit using it and got rid of it after awhile. Fast forward to this summer.....we have 4 kids now and a commercial sized ice machine. It's summertime and everyone thought iced tea sounded refreshing and we have plenty of ice, so hubby gets the idea that we should buy another tea machine. I order one. The machine comes, we make a few batches of tea, and we quickly remember WHY we got rid of ours years ago. Here's a little rundown of how it works......You fill your pitcher to a line near the bottom based on 1qt, 2qts or 3qts (however much you plan to make). If you're making 3qts, this equates to maybe a few inches of water in the pitcher which is really very little water. You pour this into the machine, put the little basket in with your tea bag(s) and then fill the pitcher nearly full of ice. The 1/2/3 qt ice lines are near the top of the pitcher. You slide the pitcher up to the machine, and hit start. In theory, by the time the hot tea comes down and melts the ice, the end result is 3 qts of tea. This never works out. I always followed measurements for 3 qts and the finished pitcher was never even close. I tried going above the recommended ice line and it helped, but still no. The next issue is that these bad boys leak tea all over your countertop. When it first starts brewing, the flow is strong enough to go right in the pitcher, however, at the end there doesn't seem to be enough force and it just trickles down the front of the machine all over everywhere. I put the whole setup on a towel but, I didn't really need a bunch of tea stained towels. Moving on, the machine has a pretty short cord and puts off a lot of steam. I didn't like steaming the underneath side of my upper cabinets, and the cord was too short to pull out away from the wall, so I had to move it to my island. On to the next issue!! After using it about a dozen times, it got to where it just kept shutting off before brewing was complete. I would have to hit the start button several times to even brew the whole pitcher. This machine is now retired, just as its ancestors before it. I'm kicking myself for being stupid because think about it, tea is seriously one of the easiest things on earth to make. Boil water.......pour over tea bag........done. I am using a Pampered Chef pitcher I had in the cabinet and using an electric tea kettle to boil water. Let it sit a bit, squeeze and remove tea bags, Ta Da!! Tea!! Save yourself the money, the headache and the ice and just don't buy this.

Very good looking machine, makes quality coffee. Paid $80 something, everyone thought I paid $200 for it. I have a espresso machine(Nespresso) at home, but it costs too much when it comes making Americano, it takes 2 pods to make one cup of Americano, and 2 pods will cost close to $2, and if i want to make a 20 ounce of coffee then.... it will cost more than me buying straight from Starbucks. So i've decided to shred $80 bucks on a drip coffee machine and it is absolutely worth it!

  • As soon as this arrived I had it washed and set up to start making cold brew. Obviously this I have no idea how the coffee will taste right now but I’m hopeful. Likes: My hand can fit inside the mouth of the jar, which makes it easier to wash. Mesh filter is very ridged. Didn’t flex in my hands or feel like it wouldn’t last. The pour cap I’m expecting to make pouring much easier since the jar is a larger size will require me to use both hands. Dislikes: The pourtop lid and the mesh filter both have seals. I could not get a tight seal using both as the instructions suggest. I ended up having to take the seal from the filter off which allowed the lid to screw on tightly. Even shaking the jar (as the instructions suggest) there were no leaks. Shaking the jar causes the grinds to go everywhere inside the cap. It just seems silly since now I’ll have to wash the cap before pouring the brew. I wish it came with a lid for storing in the fridge. Not a terrible huge deal and something that might not bother others as it does me. Especially since coffeemakers.us.com only sells lids in packs of 16 for this size. Oh well I bought another jar which I figured I would anyway since I drink a rather large cup daily. It comes with a lid so I should eventually have one jar for drinking and one for brewing. I would recommend this purchase but I would suggest looking around first, maybe another company offers one with both lids.

Right out of the gate we brewed a K-cup and used the bold setting. It tasted great no funny tastes. We did run water through it first as recommended. We Like all the features, especially bold brew button and that it can accommodate tall travel mugs up to size of starbucks red cups. Fits a 31 travel bag, I already owned, perfectly to take on week-long+ trips which is the reason for purchasing. We even take it when flying, I actually pack in my large suitcase which always gets checked anyway.

Some days I want the ease of a K pod, some days I must have a latte, and sometimes I have friends over and want a whole pot of coffee. This beautiful little baby does it all, and it doesn't overwhelm my counter space. I love it. My only complaint it that the hot water option is no hotter than the hottest water out of the faucet. That was disappointing, because I would love to make a cup of tea with it. Very happy with this product and would recommend it.

My 6-year-old Keurig finally bit the dust this week, and I decided to try the Ninja DualBrew. I got it yesterday and set it up. I ran a 55-oz. pot of water through, per the setup instructions. After that, I brewed a cup using a k-cup. (My mistake there was using my stainless froth pitcher and not paying attention to the amount of coffee that was dispensed.) I was testing a k-cup brand that had previously always given an error on my Keurig, so getting anything was a success as far as I was concerned. I then removed the basket and rinsed everything so I could run water for a cup of tea. I used a smaller mug that I know takes 8 oz. of water and it overflowed. I emptied some of the water and set my tea to steep while I grabbed a measuring cup to run another test and make sure I wasn’t just misremembering my cup’s size. Sure enough, the 8 oz. setting poured 12 oz. into my measuring cup. At that point, it was late, so I knew I would be waiting until today to research the issue. I have now been searching for the last hour and have not found this issue documented anywhere. I have one other test I want to try later, but, for now, I will be brewing everything into the pot. Hence the 3 stars, for now. Everything tastes good and *seems* easy to use, but I want to be able to brew directly into a cup as designed and not have to constantly re-teach every guest I have how to make coffee. Will update again once resolved.
