This review is based on one week's usage--take that for what its worth. It is effective, it heats the water and passes it through the ground coffee beans in the filter. The filter is nice; no paper filter needed. It is as advertised--a basic, functioning water heating device. One drawback is the lack of auto shutoff. While it is sold as a "feature": "no special programming or settings to complicate the coffee maker function". Right. It is so simple it doesn't shut off by itself. Understand that, and you should be very happy with this purchase. Go to bed forgetting to shut it off and the pic is what you'll wake up to. I purchased this to travel out of town for a couple of weeks and it is well worth the money for that purpose.
This worked fine for what it was. Coffee tasted good, but only had it for about 6 weeks and used it maybe 20 times and it cracked. The crack was pretty small at first but then after a few washes it went all the way through. Disappointed in the quality.
I've had this coffee machine about a year and dislike it as much as when I purchased it. Firstly, it took about 10x filling the water reservoir with water and vinegar to get rid of the chemically plastic taste. The "over ice" option only allows 6 oz of liquid. My main issue with this machine is how messy and watery it is. My husband uses paper k cups and sometimes the needles can't even pierce it so we end up with water everywhere. I use a reusable k cup with ground coffee and you can see in the photo how weak it is and how coffee is splattered everywhere over the inside of the mug and it's also all over the back of the machine. The last 4-7 seconds of brewing is mostly light brown to water. The design is awkward so it takes up more counter space than necessary, they should've put the water reservoir behind or made it mobile. I stayed at a friends house recently who had a Nespresso and was so jealous of how high quality their coffee tasted...
I just got this and have never made cold brew coffee in one of these coffee makers yet. So on my first time using it, I let it brew for 24 hours. It makes a nice, bold flavorful cold brew coffee. But it still gets a few coffee grounds in your cup. The filter system needs to be innovated just a tad bit better to fix this issue. I really hate finding coffee grounds in my cup of coffee!
We had the Elite, and loved it! Something happened and it stopped brewing. Predictably, Keurig was eager and quick to replace our maker! They upgraded us to a 2.0, with the carafe ability! It works like a charm, makes delicious coffee, and I cannot say enough regarding keurig's customer service! Thank you so much Keurig!
This coffee maker is friendly to all users! It’s so simple, that I think my own grandma could use it without trouble, and she’s not the best with technology. The box came with the coffee maker, cup + measurer scoop, and information on the device + types of drinks that can be made and how! The instructions even show what products can be bought for your coffee needs! Honestly, it is very easy to use, simple to wash, and very quiet for those early birds! It didn’t wake anyone in my household, which is great to have in the morning when wanting some alone time As a side note, if you like sweet cream cold foam, you can add syrup or marshmallow cream to make your coffee that much better! I don’t have any negatives about this purchase!
I've had this for more than 1 year. Seems they grind coffee finer theses days. That leaves 'silt' in the cup. (was better years ago). Look at their pix and mine and decide which is easier. My way I don't have to clean spills or drink 'silt'. (this costs $78 at walmart)
I work in an office with a Keurig machine and I have only used it once...ok, maybe twice. Usually the coffee that comes out of the Keurig is not to my liking. It's either too weak, too strong, or tastes like whatever cleaner was used most recently. that plus the waste generated by these machines, all these little plastic cups of coffee grounds pierced on two sides. One can imagine the tons of little plastic cups filling up landfills nationwide. This s why I was so surprised by this unit. The Tastyle Hot and Iced coffee maker... its ease of use, speed, and versatility. I used some Keurig style cups of regular coffee and I experimented with the re-usable filter cup that comes with the unit. Since switching to decaf (we all get older) I have had to get creative with my morning brew to make it more palatable. I have started mixing my coffee with brewed cacao and the result has been wonderful. The re-usable filter cup allows you to put whatever brew in and mix it however you want. The buttons on the top of the unit are easy to figure... on/off, hot brew, iced brew, bold, and descale. I have yet to descale the unit but I made both a hot cup and a cold cup (the hot takes a bit longer because it heats the water up) and the bold button works by pulsing so the water spends more time mixing with the grinds for stronger extraction. Having worked for Starbucks for many years I am biased against these machines but I have to admit I like this one. The water reservoir is only good for 4 or 5 cups of coffee (depending on how much water your cup requires) but there are very handy ounce buttons on the top of the unit. The magnetic Keurig cup holder that sticks to the side of the unit is nice but I plan to use the included re-useable cup going forward. The only reason this unit does not earn five stars is that it is very difficult to clean and using the included re-useable cup the unit requires a lot of cleaning. Other than that the Tastyle Hot and Iced coffee maker is well worth the price of admission!
There are only two people who drink coffee at our small office. My coworker REALLY wanted a Keurig so this was the compromise. Small pots for most days; single serve for the occasional instant gratification only (less waste.). This Cuisinart doesn't do either well. Apparently Cusinart hasn't figured out how to dole out water based on the serving size- at least not for pots. The single serve side pulls water based on cup size ; why can't the pot side? I thought the 1-4 button was for that purpose but it's not. You have to fill it with the water required for the pot size you're brewing. With my Ninja (at home) you fill the reservoir fully- if you want 1 cup it pulls water for one cup, 1/2 pot etc. The Cuisinart requires daily filling/per pot filling which might be okay but it is a PAIN to fill. People are not exaggerating on other reviews. See my photos. You have two tiny corners to pour the water into and the left side has a carbon filter in it. So pour water into the right side- easy right? Except when you do that you can't see the fill line on the left side. The top only flips back so much so you don't have room there either. Accidentally pour too much water in and guess what- now you're making a bigger pot. FRUSTRATING. Our office sink is very shallow so filling the pot each day is a pain. And yes; the single serve side splashes all over. We happen to have taller travel mugs so it's not a big deal- however if you plan to use a regular sized mug you're going to have a mess. In short (too late) if you want a versatile coffee maker in this price point buy a Ninja for a little more and skip the pods. Yes; you still have to add coffee/filter everyday- but it's simple to make a single cup, travel size, half pot or full pot. It does it all well. If you really want a duel coffee maker with a pod side I'd honestly buy two machines. I researched the heck out of dual machines and this was the best I could find. Not good enough. Individual non-branded pod machines are cheap nowadays. Same as a decent full-pot sized coffee maker. If you have the room for two that would be my suggestion.
This coffee maker is ~okay~. I like how it's dishwasher safe and can be completely taken apart, making it super easy to clean. Other than that, it's pretty average--works like any other coffee maker. One thing that kinda bugs me though: it'll beep to tell you it's done, but will keep dripping for what feels like ~forever~ (especially at 5:30am when you just want your coffee). I added a pic to show the puddle of liquid that still sits in with the grounds about 7 minutes after it beeps. After pouring coffee, I usually leave the carafe out and open for a while so that it can dry and not get gross, but when I put it back in, there is still some liquid left in the coffee maker that then drips into the carafe. Not a huge deal, but kinda bugs me. Overall, it's a decent coffee maker that does its job and is easy to clean.
Fortunately I purchased the white model so I could see what was happening. After a few weeks of use and everyday cleaning, even leaving the lid up for drying, there is mold growing in the plastic and screw inside the water reservoir. It's impossible to clean without breaking something. Going in the trash.

I took the cheap route and I'm paying for it daily. Where do we start. The filter typically folds in when brewing and I've thrown away about 5 pots now that were basically water becuase the filter covered coffee. Pouring water into the intake is slow and messy. Pouring the coffee when it's done is even worse. If you pour the pot just regularly it spills all over the side and you need a towel to clean up the mess . You have to hold it at this weird awkward angle and pour extremely slow. Basically about 20-30 seconds. Pay a few dollars more and avoid this coffee maker . I'd return if I didn't use it.
My bunny is only 2 months old, and he is as big as two hands together. I'm just showing off my bunny tbh, bcos he's cute. Anyways, this is a really good coffee maker, super convenient bcos I have a class at 7:30 in the morning & I would just have coffee already for it. I would totally recommend it
This showed up exactly when I needed it. I was recently introduced to this technology by accident and I was so impressed that I just had to get one. This beverage maker is just perfect. Simple to setup and use. I like the magnetic k-cup holder that sits on the side of machine for quick k-cup selection. They give you different stands for your coffee mugs depending on the height of your cup which is smart. There is a filter for putting loose grounds in and making coffee. You can do other beverages as well. There is a alert for after you have made some 300 cups it tells you when to clean it or descale it, which I like. I just get my favorite k-cups, pop one in the top, close the lid, press the amount of ounces, then press hot or cold brew and within a minute or so I have a cup ready to go on the go. Love this machine so much !
