L O V E the design! No pots, no burned coffee, just dispense and it stays really hot for 4 hours and I tasted the coffee at the 4th hour.... still good, and as advertised! Size is comparable to a regular one pot coffee maker, but a bit higher. It fits perfectly on my kitchen counter, and it’s nice enough to display at my open concept kitchen. Neat, sleek, so simple to use!
WHAT I REALLY DON'T LIKE ABOUT THIS MACHINE: The plastic top for the carafe doesn't have a hinge...it is just one plastic piece that you have to bop with your fist to pop in place (and dig off with your fingernails when you go to wash it). Sometimes it seems like the lid is in place but when you go to pour your coffee it falls into the cup. I called the company about this and they did mail me a new carafe (so good customer service) but this doesn't fix the basic problem. At this price point the carafe should have a hinge type top that affixes to the handle and doesn't fall off. I usually just buy a cheap B&D type coffee maker because they all do basically the same thing and I like basket style filters (cheaper). But I noticed my son's Cuisinart coffee maker had a warming plate that allowed you to adjust the temperature (W,M, H). My B&D (which I only had for about 16 months died prematurely) so I ponied up the $ for the almost double-the-price Cuisinart ($75) to get an adjustable warming plate. It does have alot of other features that the B&D didn't have (Bold flavor button, pre-set "on" time, "clean" button and unfortunately a "cone" filter). The machine is working well and makes good coffee but I don't use alot of the features (tho I do like the adjustable warming plate). Unfortunately, I would not spend the money to buy this machine in future.
I had this kcup single serve coffee amker and it broke this morning. Bought it on 5/18 and just used it for barely 3 weeks. Opt for a more expensive s/s brewer - you pay for quality.
I received this as a gift and would make coffee with it 4-5 times a week for the 3 months it lasted. I ended up purchasing a manual burr grinder and a butane fuel burner to complete the experience. I would heat the water to the coffee setting of 205 °F before adding it to the Yama and starting the butane burner on its lowest flame. The pressure would only take a minute or so to feed the water up to the coffee grounds. It really is satisfying to watch! Unfortunately after cutting the heat from the burner I heard the sharp sound of the glass cracking. I hadn't expected this to happen with how lightly I use it and especially after all the time I spend reading about how to use and clean this type of coffee maker. Making your coffee this way is not efficient but I enjoyed the process and the added work makes the cup of coffee that much more of a reward for the effort. It's just unfortunate I must have had a defect in the one I received.
Feeling happy with this cute coffeemaker. Easy to use. Same height as standard kitchentowels. Hot coffee. I use it with senseo coffeepads!
I ordered this through the kickstarter campaign. It took a little longer to deliver than they had promised. But since I received it, I have used it 20-30 times with no complaints whatsoever. The coffee is delicious. It is very easy to use. I especially love the carafe. The design is unique and I like the way the handle is integrated into the shape. My only complaint, and it is very minor, is that the coffee release switch is a little difficult to manipulate but I would rather have too hard than always releasing the coffee inadvertently. Great product.
When brewing a full pot it uses all the water but only 10 cups have went to carafe, takes another 5-10 minutes for rest to fill. In addition the coffee has grounds in it. I don’t think the carafe is pushing up when installed to open the spout enough for the coffee to empty into the carafe. I contacted coffeemakers.us.com customer service and Breville, both acted like I’ve never used a coffee maker and stopped responding to emails. I read multiple reviews before purchasing and multiple people mentioned Breville’s terrible customer service and I am finding out they were correct. Spend another $50 and buy a Moccamaster coffee maker and you can thank me later.
Already been using this French press Coffee for 2 weeks now since it arrived at my doorway. So far I am impressed with its design and having the instruction manual on maintaining it is very helpful. Not only its easy to use, It definitely extract the bean flavor effeciently and effectively. The first thing I just noticed when first use is sometimes it stick when pressing. However using it frequently make it more easier to use. Just take some little time to get used to. I recommend this product for all coffee lovers to give this a try!
It fell apart after 2nd use!
Have only had this a day, but my first iced coffee was perfect! I did top it off with a bit more ice after it brewed, but I didn’t notice a watered-down taste at all; just delicious, fresh tasting coffee over ice. We love!
This is a great product. I wish the carafe wasn’t as heavy, but the weight is due to its insulating qualities. I wish it distributes the water over the beans more evenly. I am picky and this coffee maker is worth it.
Bottom line: this is a phenomenal cold brew maker - IF you have time to filter. Pros: durable, simple, makes delicious cold brew, easy to clean, affordable Cons: when using pre-ground coffee, there is a ton of sediment, which takes time to filter out Worth it? Absolutely! I ordered this bad boy and couldn't wait to use it once it arrived. Easy: open, clean, fill the filter with grounds to the top line level on the jar (will leave a few inches on top - picture included). Then pour cold, filtered water slowly over the grounds, up just past the top line on the jar so all the grounds are submerged. I stirred the grounds for about 5 minutes. Seal the jar with lid. I did this at 4pm, and let the jar sit out until I went to bed, which was around midnight. Then I stuck it on the fridge. At 9am the next morning, I stirred the grounds once more, then dumped them. Cleaning the filter was a breeze with a soft baby bottle brush. I then went through the painful process of filtering out the sediment. A lot of people won't do this because it is time-consuming and you do lose a little bit of coffee. But honestly, losing a bit of coffee is worth having clean, filtered coffee in my mind. I transferred the cold brew to a bowl, where I mixed it with a simple syrup I had just made. Then I rinsed out the jar and began filtering. I used a pour-over with a coffee filter to strain all of the sediment out. It took about 20 minutes and required multiple coffee filters, but was 100% WORTH IT. The end result was a delicious, balanced, robust and CLEAN cold brew that I immediately poured over ice and added cream to. Wow all around. Everything about this system is great, but the tedious process of filtering again means minus 1 star. I had found another cold brew system with a second filter and do wish I had gone with that one. Regardless, this is a fantastic option if you're either 1) open to sediment; 2) grind your own beans and use a more coarse ground; or 3) have time to filter. Pictures included - paper towel roll for size reference. Stir spoon and filtering process included.
This is an automatic coffee maker for either K-cups or grounds. It has cup size settings from 6 to 24 ounces, and options for Hot Brew, Over Ice, and Bold. There is a water tank on the back which can be filled with a glass, or by removing the tank and putting it under the sink. There are two cup stands for large or small cups. Also includes a K-cup storage rack that sticks to the refrigerator with magnets. It is easy to use and makes good coffee from K-cups. It stops accurately at the set ounce limit. Uses just under 1000 watts while making coffee. This is a good simple coffee maker.
The top tip is twisted and the bottom part came apart, I had to put it back together. Very disappointed with the product.
